Default Michael Bay's Next Movie Will Be a $20 Million Dark Comedy

Quote:

Transformers: Dark of the Moon may be Michael Bay's most Bay-esque popcorn-flick to date, but his next project, Pain & Gain, may end up his most anomalous. Pain, which Bay once called "a small little movie," comparing it to Pulp Fiction, is a long-in-the-works dark comedy based on a Miami New Times story about bodybuilders in the Florida criminal underworld. "I'm going to do it next," he confirmed to MTV on Wednesday. And, he claims, it'll only be 2-D, and only cost $20 million! It's like Michael Bay is temporarily sick of Michael Bay movies. Yeah, and Peter Jackson's going to do his genital-surgery movie, and Roland Emmerich's going to do his Shakespeare movie...Suuuure, they will.

(Still, IMDB did ask "Whatever happened to those quirky little-budget projects that Bay and Emmerich once promised they were going to make next?")

Emmerich does have his Shakespeare movie coming out. It's called Anonymous.

For the record, the first Bay movie only cost 19 million. I bet there's a shootout at least.

Does a joke work if there are 17 quick cuts during the telling of it?

What exactly about that sounds anything at all like Pulp Fiction? Bay will manage to work explosions into anyways, like the Juice Monkeys shoot gas station pumps with RPG's for fun.

Bay is good at what he does....not everyone can or should want to be Scorcese. Stick to explosions, guns, and hot chicks!

I think Bay will end up doing this, itll end up being Baytastic anyway with a 50 million dollar budget, and then quickly go back to Transformers 4 despite his claims to the contrary- in order to make up the money on the money lost on this project.

If this is really going to happen, then that is great news. Bay has maxed out his Action Muscle and needs to pull back and do something that at least has a touch of character work. Enough of the cratoon crapola, Mr Bay, return us to the years of The Rock with A List dramatic actors.

Well it better be better than his usual comedy shtick, as much as I liked the 3rd entry into the series, TF should quit with the jokes

.... about a director who gets paid a $#!+-ton of money to make crap movies that people show up in droves to see... on the day in which the audience wakes up from the boom-boom-pow.

Bay will keep turning out shit as long you you people keep supporting him. When the world ends in a what you fans call a "Baysplosion" I will blame you for it.
