Steelbook is currently £37.99. For 6 episodes. Six probably rubbish episodes. Obscene.

If anyone is interested, there is a marathon airing on BBC America ahead of the season premiere

At least Seven including the forthcoming Christmas Special. Eight if it includes Revolution of the Daleks, which it should do for completion's sake.

It might include Revolution (though Twice upon a Time wasn't included in the S11 set) but despite the January release date the New Year special (no Christmas episode again) almost certainly won't. Even so, a hefty price for what would, either way, probably be a two disc set with minimal extras, possibly in an attempt to compensate for the lower sales of the last two seasons.

Why does the site still say 1.78:1 is the OAR for the Whitaker seasons? 2.00:1 is the OAR as per the discs.

Based on previous precedent, I'd say that this will include Revolution and Flux; the final three Whittaker specials will then be released individually, followed by a 'box set' of them all together. It will be interesting to see how they handle series 14 onward if this release is simply titled "Flux". Actually, they'd probably just go "Series 12, Flux, Series 14" and collectors would be forever mildly annoyed.

It looks like the original AR for the series as a whole is set by a single drop down, and there's no option for 1.78:1 and 2:1 together. If you set it to 2:1, the older seasons would no longer be correct.

Curious if Revolution will be included or not. Sure it was hot garbage, but still...

I do love Alice X. Zhang's Doctor Who artwork - that steelbook looks beautiful.

I've gotten all the steelbooks, so I'm in for this one, too.

Because it's under new doctor Who. If changed , new Doctor Who OAR to 1.78 and 2.00 on the database then Doctors 9,10,11, etc would say OAR 2.00 too

I'd imagine it'll be Series 12, Flux, Series 13. Just like it was Series 4, The Specials, Series 5 and Series 7, The Anniversary Specials, Series 8.

The description lists it as having a 6 hour run time and all 6 episodes are an hour each so I'm guessing Revolution will be omitted. However I could be wrong. Probably find out when they do a full press release

Series 13 is just Flux, though, according to the BBC's own episode guide. Or are you suggesting that they'll release Flux by itself and then a "Series 13" set with all ten episodes from 2021-2022?

Whilst not on the packaging, "Series 13" is in the name of the Amazon listing, and it's mentioned multiple times in description:

Quote:
She’s back. The Thirteenth Doctor is returning for the thirteenth series, a six-part Event Serial.
...
Series 13 will introduce some terrifying new adversaries and the return of truly iconic old enemies. Expect action, fun, scares and extraordinary new worlds as the Doctor and her friends confront a deadly evil.
I think it's fairly safe to assume that Flux is (or at least a part of) Series 13. What isn't clear (and won't be for some time), is how the 2022 specials fit into that. The 2009 Tennant specials were released separately, and were only a continuation of Series 4 for production purposes.

I suspect the same will be true for the 2022 specials, but given the low episode count they may well later decide to call the whole lot Series 13.

Fair point. Although I was following on from the numbering system used by the new series.

This is a better point.

I forgot that next year's episodes are most comparable to the Tennant specials. This years episodes have the overriding series title of Flux with each episode having its own title. So, I reckon we'll get either...

Doctor Who: Flux
Doctor Who: The 2022 Specials
Doctor Who Series 13

Or, more likely...

Doctor Who: Flux
Doctor Who: The 2022 Specials
Doctor Who Series 14

I think the latter, definitely since this was supposed to be a series 13, it was just COVID that forced changes. The '22 Specials are comparable to the Tennant specials I believe in that they were greenlit as specials rather than series.

Plus, in the future Big Finish will do adaptations of the originally planned series 13 as they did with the original season 23.
