Default Bananaman Movie - 2015 release date

Quote:
Into an already crowded 2015 superhero landscape will storm / fly / be-delivered-in-a-crate none other than Bananaman, children's TV crusader. He's the latest kids-telly-to-big-screen transfer and has a new teaser poster to flaunt the fact, courtesy of production house Elstree Studio.

Created by John Geering 35 years ago, the man-of-peel has had a home in both The Beano and The Dandy. He is, of course, ordinary schoolboy Eric Wimp who, in a fond pastiche of Marvel heroes, is transformed into a yellow-clad flying, super-strength ("twenty men... twenty big men") ubermensch by the merest nibble of the yellow, bendy stuff.

Details of the movie are still under wraps, despite the presence of a website, but will hopefully be less under-wraps soon. There's no word from the studio on director, voice cast or story line, but possible villains for our yellow hero include such scoundrels as General Blight, Doctor Gloom, Mouseman and the nefarious Auntie, wielder of a terrifying knitting ball launcher.

There is something about BananaMan that just annoys me, I'm not really into the idea of a movie, if only because the trailer will annoy me to hell.

It was originally a British comic that was mainly released through The Beano.

The Beano are the people who created Dennis The Menace.

Yeah, I just looked it up and realized it was a UK show, which is probably why I've never heard of it

Still, if it's good, I'll watch

I never thought something like this would be even up for consideration for live action adaptation.

Odd. I always read it in the Dandy when that still existed. Never saw Bananaman in the Beano in any of the issues I read.

And just so you know, the Beano has a Dennis that's a real menace.
