Talking 'Bones' Spinoff: "The Finder"

Well this is an interesting and very unexpected casting choice.

Quote:
Fox's proposed Bones spinoff is starting to take shape with the first casting. And it's a big one... literally. Michael Clarke Duncan has been tapped to co-star in the project, which will be introduced in Episode 19 this season. The spinoff, based on The Locator books written by Richard Greener, centers on Walter Sherman aka "the Locator" (the role is still being cast), a former military policeman who can find anything. Duncan will play Walter's partner Leo, a tough, raw-hide cowboy philosopher. This marks the first regular TV gig for Duncan, repped by APA and Industry, who best known for his Oscar-nominated role in The Green Mile.

I'm any occasional viewer myself, usually when none of my other shows are on, I might tune in, but his casting does interest me as well.

Same here, lol.

I wonder what the spinoff will be called. Not The Locator, right?

And just when the Law & Orders were getting thinned out.

So that's
3 Law & Order's(2 after this year?)
3 CSI's
and 2 NCIS's

I will check it out though, could be interesting.

Probably "Locator" cause that would be awesome.........wait no it wouldn't....Maybe they will get even more clever and call it "Sherman" after the main character.

Or how about Walter the Locator?

A good choice on their first casting decision. Whether I have any interest will ride on the rest though.

Knowing FOX, they'll probably name it Flesh.

You know because Bones...and then Flesh...yeah, see how stupid that is

I love Bones but I don't see how a spin-off would really work. Just like the Criminal Minds spin-off is on hold or whatever they did with it... it just doesn't work when the original team already travels the nation. Sure the Criminal Minds team does more traveling than the Bones crew but with the Law & Order and CSIs they are more centralized. Then again NCIS they go all over but the new spin-off they mostly stay in LA. Something lilke "The Locator" or whatever they call it shouldn't be confined to a single city.. perhaps not even to just the US.

Either way, I'm a fan of Michael Clarke Duncan so I will check it out. Funny thing is I was just talking to my sister about him the other day.

Sounds interesting. I'll give this an episode or two to see if I'll follow the series (if it's ever made that is).

I dont really get how this is a spin-off of Bones. I can see that they r gonna introduce the two characters in an episode of Bones but that really doesnt make it a spin-off. It's not about any of the regular characters nor is it forensic pathology. Its just a odd way to introduce the show.

As to MCD, I have yet to see him anything I didnt like tho I cant really see him as a cowboy philosopher. Is Hart Hanson running this show as well?

I agree. If it was a spin-off showing Zack solving crimes from his secret prison based lab, with Booth and Hodgins occasionally dropping by... Hell, even giving one or more of the interns their own show called "Squints"... Or better yet, spinning off Sweets into his own show! But this is just a new show. I'll still give it a shot. Fan of MCDuncan.

Oh wow, HORRIBLE choice in my opinion. Geoff is definitely not a leading man, he's not even what I would consider a good sidekick, lol. Oh well I definitely will not be watching this one now.

Bones Spin-off Finds Its 'Locator,' Casts Geoff Stults As Lead
Quote:
Fox’s high-profile Bones spinoff has found its star, by way of October Road.

TVLine has learned exclusively that Geoff Stults, whose credits include the aforementioned ABC drama (as well as 7th Heaven and Happy Town), will front the planted pilot, which will air as the 19th episode of Bones‘ current season.

Based on The Locator series of two books written by Richard Greener, the prospective new series centers on Walter Sherman aka “the Locator,” a former military policeman who can find anything.

Michael Clarke Duncan (The Green Mile) previously was cast as Walter’s partner Leo, a tough, raw-hide cowboy philosopher.

Bones Spinoff Lands Saffron Burrows
Quote:
Ex-Law & Order: Criminal Intent detective Saffron Burrows has joined Fox’s prospective Bones spinoff, sources confirm.

Burrows joins the previously-cast Geoff Stults and Michael Clarke Duncan.

The planted pilot, which will air as the 19th episode of Bones‘ current season, is based on The Locator books written by Richard Greener and centers on Walter Sherman aka “the Locator” (Stults), a former military policeman who can find anything.

Burrows will play Walter’s confidente/sidekick, a bar owner who knows her way around a helicopter cockpit.

How is this connected with Bones?

I'll check it out, but the series probably won't even get picked up.

Sounds to me like they are trying to get picked up based on the Bones name recognition.

With the amount of none spin-offs fox has ordered pilots for, and the x-factopalypse going on, this seems like them giving it a one-off.

If Fringe gets canceled and this gets picked up, I'm gonna find a FOX exec, and kick him square in the sack.
