I might pick this up. But I have it on DVD and don't really feel the need to upgrade.

There's no way BB would bother to get the original version from Japan as an exclusive, is there?

I know it just got a region A announcement for Japan, but I wouldn't think BB would have an interest in making that one an exclusive with the US version having done really well.

Weirder things have happened and just wanted to know for sure, before I give away my dvd.

Finally! Been waiting for this since Blu won the format war. Hope its a decent release, either way day one for sure.

IMO one of the best PG-13 horror movies of the past 15-20 years

Not only will it look gorgeous but it will also sound mesmerizing. The DVD still holds up with a very power DTS track.

I truly hope Paramount treats this one with a lenticular slipcover like the current re-release on DVD.

Been waiting for this one since I started buying blus

I think this is the movie that started my unhealthy obsession with Naomi Watts

It's one my favorite horror movies.... And it's a good example of a great PG-13 horror fick

I hope this gets confirmed soon. I'm only slightly nervous because the original is often referred to as The Ring by retailers and not Ringu AND the original was announced for late April, which COULD be a month of exclusivity for Best Buy.

I think it's the U.S. one, but I'd love to know.

Just in case people were interested Samara in The Ring was played by a little know actress named Daveigh Chase, who is now 21. Check the pics! Also if intested here's a link to the original trilogy (dvd though). I have it and it's very good. You really see how all the films fit together.

It would be nice if it actually had some good special features, like maybe a Verbinski commentary. Can't say I'm holding my breath, though.

If this is indeed the US one, they should include the short film that takes place between the first and second film called RINGS.

Thanks for the find! The film is one of the only good horror remakes of the decade and it should look superb in HD (The cinematography is absolutely beautiful)!

I hope that it will include all of the deleted scenes, but that seems like a long-shot.
