Default Release More Older Movies on Blu-ray

Everyone has their list of favorite movies they want to be released on Blu-ray. It appears that the priority for film companies is to release the most meaningless and unworthy recent movies just make a buck before the films disappear into movie oblivion. I'd like to see more of older movies released every month such as the following fifty films:

And Justice For All
Alien
All the President's Men
Apacolypse Now
A Perfect Murder
Barry Lyndon
Ben-Hur
Black Sunday
Body Double
Catch-22
Chinatown
Das Boot
Death Wish
El Cid
Exodus
Eye of the Needle
Hang'em High
Horror of Dracula
Hombre
In the Heat of the Night
Invasion of the Body Snatchers
It's a Mad, Mad, Mad World
I Was a Teenage Werewolf
Jackel
Jaws
Jesse James
Jurassic Park
Les Miserables
Munich
Outland
One-Eyed Jacks
Prince of the City
Rolling Thunder
Schindler's List
Sorcerer
Star Wars, first 3 movies
Titanic
The Black Stallion
The Blue Max
The Blues Brothers
The Boys from Brazil
The Collector
The Deer hunter
The Duellists
The Enemy Below
The Missouri Breaks
The Postman Always Rings Twice
The Thomas Crown Affair
The Seven Ups
The Sting
The Verdict

Yes, there are not enough older movies on Blu-Ray. It's a shame, because widescreen movies from the fifties and sixties look glorious in 1080p. I've recently seen South Pacific and How the West Was Won and was astounded by the picture quality. Show those movies to any movie lover and they'd be cured of the popular fallacy that only the latest movies will look good on Blu-Ray. I'd say that those classic movies improve the most from a hi-def transfer, especially those 70mm widescreen movies that look squashed on DVD. I've been just as pleased with the small number of Technicolor movies on Blu-Ray. The Red Shoes looked incredible.

I'd love to see all of those wonderful widescreen Hitchcock movies from the fifites on Blu-Ray. It's great that North by Northwest will be released this year on Blu-Ray, but let's not forget about Vertigo, How to Catch a Thief, Rear Window, The Man Who Knew Too Much or even The Trouble with Harry. All of those would be incredible improvements on those blurry DVDs.

Or what about the westerns Anthony Mann did with James Stewart? More classic MGM musicals? I'm surprised that not all of Fred Astaire's movies have been released on DVD yet, so why not start with those on Blu-Ray instead? How about a few Billy Wilder movies on Blu-Ray? William Wyler? Otto Preminger? The list goes on and on.
