Good thing I got 2 Legendary copies lol. Mine worked great. Game was good. Started off not liking it, just as I did when going from Halo 1 to Halo 2, but then ended up liking it. Well I got mine at 12:01 and I was 2nd in line and then just played until 6:30am and I am tired.... Campaign seems extremely easy, even more than Halo2 which is odd. But perhaps its because there was me and 3 buddies playing co-op on LIVE.....? Oh well, wake up in a few hours and get some more in.

Sucks for people with the scratches!

don't worry the Xbox 360's DVD drive will even out the scratches, eventualy sanding down to the point where the Xbox 360 think's it not an Xbox 360 disk, causing it to play the first video track, which display's the "this disk is an Xbox 360 game disk, and will only work on a Xbox 360 console" while being in an Xbox 360 console.

I don't understand why people are supporting a game based on hype! It's so freaking ridiculous! At the release event in NewYork M$ shut down 5th Ave. According to G4 M$ even had the secret service on hand to handle security (rumored). There will be millions of Xbox owners complaining about the RED RING OF DEATH after playing hours of Halo 3 (mark my words)

At the midnight location where i went, ppl were just opening up every single collectors edition just to find a good one. I think i only saw 2 ppl get good ones after going through like 20 copies each. The best buy employee said to stop selling them cause they are all defective....lol

Emphasis added by me.

It is extremely unlikely that this happened as it would take a special, written order by the President himself to enact this (up until this decade it was not allowed under *any* circumstances). Also the GAO would want to know how this is being funded as the Secret Service's actions cannot be paid for from private funds.

As an aside, it is unfortunate that the Secret Service now is just another investigative/protection/enforcement group under the Department of Homeland Security. They used to be very special. They were not part of the intelligence/DoD/DoJ group. They were part of Treasury. That made them separate and a bit different. Now they report to the same people as the FBI, the Coast Guard and the rest of that motley crew. Now they are just one of many. That's unfortunate.

I fell victim to a scratch game disc. I took the game back to the store (Gamestop) and the guy opened a new "regular edition" copy and swapped the disc with my LE disc. Both discs have the exact same content, just different art on the label. The second disc was fine.
This is going to put another dent in Microsoft's Xbox reputation. Fortunately, I never had a problem with my 360, which I got at launch. No HD-DVD option though...Blu-ray all the way!

I know alot of people are going to be pissed off if they happened to be one of the unfortunate souls that bought a scratched copy.

M$ couldn't care less. They just want to get the copies out the door and then they'll deal with the consequences later with their deep pockets.

Not sure yet. I just beat the game on "Normal" which was rather easy to me. Took a little less than 6hrs. Doesn't seem as long as Halo2 and what sucks the worest is that they kill off Master Chief in the end. They dont say how he died though. Both the arbitor and Master Chief finish the game by jumping the warthog into the plane and thats all you see and then theres a movie that has a ton of pictures of everybody that died during the game and then the captain says "I can't believe he's dead" and they dont show Master Chief at all so you can assume he's dead but nobody know why......

I felt that going from Halo 2 to Halo 3 was the same as going from Halo to Halo 2. But whats nice about Halo 3 is that they made a lot of it to be like the original Halo; They took off "auto aim" thank god. Auto aim made everyone "good" at sniping and getting head shots, not anymore. Nobody really even touches the sniper rifle at all because its so much harder to use. I like it because I'm one of the few that know how to use it

But anyways, yes I like the game. Some other nice features are like "Theater" which records past games, I think past 15 games or so and you can go thru them in slow motion, and different views and such which is cool, a "replay".

Also another cool feature is that it allows you to move or add weapons and vehicles to wherever you want them in the map for a true "Custom Game".

After my gf bought a laptop with Vista I can honestly say that I cant stand MS products anymore. They're all so crappy its unreal. Their new slogan should be "Great products....when they work"

and HD DVD/MS fanboys/workers say BD is not needed for games. I bet MS wishes their game4s came with a scratch resistant coating right now .
