Default I'm confused - did Best Buy get reprints of older, rare titles?

So I went to Best Buy today to pick up Top Gun. I didn't end up getting it because the slipcovers were all messed up. I did notice a few odd things - my Best Buy still had a copy of the Lost Complete Collection (which I thought was long OOP), copies of Yes Man w/ slipcover (like five of them, and I'm assuming the digital copy was expired on all of them), and two copies of Inglorious Basterds with the gold slipcover. I saw a bin full of $7.99 titles, then I spun around and saw this:

I thought that Dreamgirls, Disturbia, Blades of Glory and Nacho Libre were long out of print, yet they had four copies of each. The rest of the movies are fairly common, but those four stood out. Also, check this out.. I flipped through the Nacho Libre copies, and I saw this:

If I'm not mistaken, the one on the right is a first pressing of Nacho Libre.

What's going on? Did Best Buy get a new pressing of these movies or something? Did someone just clean out a warehouse and stumble across these? Disturbia is on the site for $7.99, but Dreamgirls, Blades of Glory and Nacho Libre are not on the site.

That seems the most likely theory that people are going with...

Yeah, the old Nacho Libre proves that it is indeed old stock. Paramount didn't make new copies, the ones that showed up at BB this week have been sitting around somewhere, all boxed up and collecting dust.

OMG--the greatest film ever issued on bd--Nacho Libre.
edit: might have to go get a Fatal Attraction; that one actually has some value.

Oh, definitely not - it's one of my most hated movies. I couldn't pass up a first pressing of it though, sealed no less, knowing how few are still out there sealed (though if this indeed old stock, I may see these everywhere shortly).

I think every store on the planet over stocked on Nacho Libre. I remember going through the $5 bin at WalMart and half the movies were that.

Maybe there is gonna be some sort of budget line on these titles in the future?

Maybe Paramount gave BB their old stock?

Wish Reds was one of the titles, been looking for that one for a while...

I'm guessing (only a guess) that someone discovered a big stack of these out back in a warehouse somewhere. Since they've been OOP for so long, there was no longer any existing retail stream to distribute them; stores that used to carry them have long since canceled any outstanding orders and freed up the shelf space... so they just packaged them up as an exclusive "fire sale" deal for BB dump bins.

It's rare, but it does happen. Enjoy it while it lasts, because I suspect that supply for some of these at least will dry up quickly.

lets's hope the "Ebay vultures" dont strike, some of us movie loves actually want copies for our own collections.

Glad I got the ones I wanted already. (and I only bought 1 copy of each by the way...)
