Default Coco Before Chanel

Don't bother trying Best Buy for the Blu...said they would not be in stores, just online.

Great.

Great.
My Target had it in DVD, not Blu. This will be a rental for me. If it is great, then I'll get pick it up.

BB had a thousand of them in DVD. The Music/Movie mgr. had no idea why they were not getting any Blus.
He said he had ordered them too.

This is a title probably easier to buy online. Or if you live in L.A., Laserblazer.

I honestly have no clue why Best Buy stores did not receive any blu-rays.

When I checked RSS last week there was a sku for it and it said our store would be receiving 3 or 4 I believe.

I checked it this morning the sku changed to 1XXXXXX which means it is not available in stores. I thought it was just our store but every store in our district said the same thing.

I am surprised...

Audrey Tautou was absolute charming in this film. It's a very good movie and the detail on the Blu-ray is quite amazing.

Of course, there are some things that took place in the next decade during that timeline of Coco Chanel's life that isn't shown in the film (and why she lost favor with the French during WWII).

But definitely a biopic I enjoyed much more than the other recent biopic on Blu release - "Amelia".

Thumbs up Brilliant!!

I knew this movie would be amazing from the day I watched the trailer for the 1st time. I too like everyone else tried to buy it at BB and was told they only sold it online. I rented the movie and I loved it. I will be purchasing it online, it's well worth it!!

Totally agree. It used to be you could find your movies and then maybe pay 4 or 5 dollars more for the convenience of the instant gratification, but now I'm seeing 10, 15 and sometimes 19 dollar differences in prices.

Thanks guys, I'm going to watch this tonight. I got a huge haul from amazon last week and this one slipped through the cracks in the watch pile.

I've rented this a few days ago, and while a well producted Biopic, it just isn't interested about Garielle Bonheur Chanel's life or subject in the first place. It mainly talks about her affair with a rich man who she isn't very happy with, so he goes for another man, but she never marries anyone. Her life and sucess feels more as a backstory. It plays it safe enough that the plot wouldn't have been affected much if it removes her identity. It's worth watching mainly for the lovely cinematography, and Aubrey Tautou does a very good job with her role.

Word of warning for CIH users, the subtitles for Coco before Chanel are in the black bar, which requires a blu ray player with subtitle placement to be watchable in CIH form. A CIH user such as me had to watch it in 16:9 with the black bars.

Default Great film...

I saw this film in the theatre because it had been nominated for an Oscar. But there was no question I would eventually watch it because it has Audrey Tautou. I am looking forward to more of her films on blu-ray. Amelie and He Loves Me, He Loves Me Not, especially. But I'm looking forward to adding this one to my collection.

If you are interested in seeing a dramatized version of what led Gabrielle Bonheur Chanel become the woman that changed the world of fashion forever, then yes. If you are not interested in fashion at all or at least appreciate it, then don't bother.

I like the movie a lot, and Audre Tautou is great.
