Just a guess,
someday you will replace that T.V.?
Then the movies you own will play on your NEW 1080p T.V.

Absolutely yes.
You are getting the whole picture just interlaced instead of progressive.
I'm sure its the best picture you have seen on that set, no?

Default I agree

i also have a 32 inch tv and at that size in my opinion 1080p and 1080i are about the same, now if you get a larger tv say like something 42 plus then i would go for 1080p so my next tv will be at least a 50 inch lcd, and of course 120Hz, and 1080p. also panasonic and sony have 120hz 1080i tv that will help improve the picture quality by having the blu-ray movie running in its native frame rate.

i had the same concern as you. i have a 1080i 32" LCD Samsung and at one point i asked myself: "is it worth it?" so i did a little check to see and watched the same movie back to back on DVD and Blu Ray. Sleepy Hollow (which we know is not the best bluray out there) and it makes a hugggggee difference ever with the upconversion. stick to blurays

I have a 1080i CRT and initially (when pondering buying a PS3) I asked myself the same question, would it be worthwhile playing Blu-rays on it? I was amazed by how resounding a Yes I was eventually able to answer. BD in 1080i is _much_ better than DVD.

Your TV is 720p if it's a flat panel, that can accept a 1080i signal and downconvert it.

Keep buying them. I just picked up a 40 inch Sony LCD 1080p set after watching my Blu rays on a 32 inch Sony LCD 1080i set. I have 82 Blu ray movies so far and they were all purchased before I picked up my current television a couple of days ago.
Blu ray looked excellent on my 1080i set and I was more than happy with the improvement over standard dvd even though I wasn't taking full advantage of the video.

I watch all my Blu-ray's with a 720p/1080i projector on a 106" screen and I think the picture is unbelievable. I don't miss 1080p at all.

I wasn't fretting about not having 1080p either gvortex7 as I had my set for over a year before buying another. I just upgraded my television to have a bigger set, not because I had to have 1080p, it is nice though.

You should sell your BDs and player and buy one of toshibas 1080i hd-dvd players, that way you know you are getting the max you can get out of your player.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I didn't think that LCD displays were capable of 1080i? I believe they are only 720p and 1080p.
