Default Terminator 2 Question

Guys

I was just wanting to know if T2 on Blu-ray in the longer director's cut or the standard theatrical version. The back of the movie on Amazon says theatrical version 137 mins. But, Lions Gate web page list it as 152 mins which would be the director's version. Would someone who has movie please fill in me! I don't want to purchase the movie just to be let down. Thanks!

It's the theatrical release. As big as this movie is, all the more reason to believe there will be an eventual double dip.

Director's cut or not, how can you NOT buy this title? One of the best movies of all time IMO. It's also one of the cheapest blu-ray titles at $19.99 or less in most places.

Default Wonder Why?

I wonder why Lions Gate has it on their web site? I will just wait for the Director's Cut. I have been spoiled with by the extra footage, it just would not be the same. Same thing for Aliens, the Director's Cut is GREAT!

Double check to make sure they were advertising the blu or DVD version. The extended cut is so superior. I own the theatrical release in blu and it is beautiful, but really miss all of the extra scenes from the extended cut. Cameron's films stand virtually alone when it comes to the extended versions in that they augment the storyline so much. The film as a whole benifits far more than any other directors work out there.

Has anyone else noticed that T2 Blu has two different package covers?

I have the one on the left but always wondered if there was another difference than just the cover art…

It's easy to not buy this. I've seen this movie a million times, and I love it, and know there will be an eventual re-release with better PQ and both versions.

I can wait, as I am doing with Total Recall.

Dont' get me wrong...I want it in HD, but I want it looking as good as possible.

Besides the fact that it's not the 93' director's cut, there are two more arguments to make with the current T2 on Blu: PQ & SQ. They can both be MUCH improved before I decide to buy a version of it.

I don't know why they did not do both the Theatrical the Extended and the Directors cut, the Ultimate Editition DVD had it? Oh that's right, there's more money in a double dip, how stupid of me.

I'll keep my cash until the proper version is released.

With all the other good stuff out and coming out, I'll live.

T2 is my #2 favorite movie of all time, right behind Steel Magnolias. Ok, just kidding. It's my #1 favorite movie, but I just can't bring myself to buy the theatrical cut. It's so much better with the added scenes of the T-1000 being dysfunctional and I like that he kills the damn dog.

Does anyone know what additional footage is included in the Ultimate Extended Edition? I still haven't entered the code to get the added scenes.

And for the record, how the hell did the T-1000 go back in time to begin with? Nothing dead can go. Arnie was able to go back because he was surrounded by living tissue (forget about hair and nails). But the T-1000? I just don't see any life there. But I guess I really don't care. It's still my fav.

Yes, realism was always my issue with T2

I'm also on the fence with this one. Want the full version with the best quality possible.

The scene that was extended the most was at the gas station garage in the desert, just after they rescue Sarah from the mental institution. In that scene Sarah has a flashback with Kyle Reese and John Connor reprograms the cpu in the T800's "brain".

At first I was going to wait for a better version (especially since the Lionsgate release doesn't have lossless), but I got a hankering to watch it after seeing Terminator. I kinda prefer the theatrical cut, anyways.

That alternate cover appeared about a year and a half ago. Lions Gate's first BD releases didn't have the Lions Gate silver on the cover.
