Default Question about Terminator

I know that all 3 of the films have average PQ and slightly better AQ from reading reviews, and I was wondering if you guys think they will be released again with the 4th installment? Because I have no idea if I should buy them now or wait.

The Terminator films have been pretty notorious for being re-released over and over so I would be almost positive that their Blu-ray versions will be re-done as well.

Default might as well get em' now

since they're doing # 4, and Planning (see thread from yesterday) on doing a 5th already (McG or the studio sees # 4 as part of a New Trilogy of films, and I believe the release said Bale was signed up already for all 3 films)

I would wait. The way Fox/MGM (who have T1) is acting with their releases lacking extras, its almost like they're hinting at future SEs etc. Lionsgate's Blu for T2 is meh for PQ, and there are better HD transfers out there for the title, plus the disc is missing extras. T3 is a good Blu, but still could maybe use a boost. 1 thing though is that we won't be seeing a box set of all 3 (which would have been nice).

As previous posters have said, the Terminator movies get re-released all the time. The thing to remember, though, is that they're distributed by different studios, so a coordinated effort would be needed. WB is distributing the new one, so a re-release of T3 isn't out of the question.

You guys think Rambo will be released again with all 4 installments, and possibly better PQ/AQ?

I doubt it. I haven't seen 2 or 3 on blu but I was pleased with first blood, probably about as good as it will get.

I'm waiting until the Terminator movies are re-released with lossless audio. I am no longer buying any disc unless it's top notch in both PQ & AQ.
I want it all now....

im a huge james cameron fan so i bought T1 and T2, but i have no doubt they'll be released again, and of course i'll give in and buy them again. for now though, i think they look really good, not fantastic, which is disappointing since the 2nd one EE is what i consider a reference quality dvd.

Here's one thing it comes down to: there are more special features on the DVD versions of these movies than the blurays, and studios are going to want people to know they're getting the best version of a movie yet with the bluray, so ultimately i believe new editions will arrive (with updated AQ and possibly PQ too). and like everyone's said, they will probably come out when T4 hits theaters or is released on bluray...which btw will look sick.

Terminator looks and sounds about as good for its age and type of film stock used.

Terminator 2 will more than likely get released with a slightly better transfer and lossless audio next year.

Terminator 3 I believe has been re-issued in 1080p and is said to look good, but I don't believe it contains lossless, so I can see this being re-issued again.

I have to agree with this, I have been holding off on buying Terminator or T2 on Blu-Ray because I have a suspicious feeling that a more elaborate Blu-Ray will be released to coincide with the Blu-Ray release of Terminator: Salvation later in 2009.

I don't understand what you guys mean about T2, Highdefdigest gave T2 4 stars for PQ, and generally they're tougher in their reviews than blu-ray.com. But anyways....

....over in the T2 Japanese Steelbook thread, they're saying the PQ is better than the PQ in the current NA release. Is this true? If so, is it likely that we'll be seeing this new version of T2 released in NA in time for T4?

And from what you guys are saying, it seems like even if one film gets rereleased, that doesn't mean all of them will. So if T2 does get rereleased over here, is it still safe to get the other two, or should I wait for their potential rereleases as well?
