help please, can't seem to play blu ray movie on pc - Blu-ray Forum

hello guys, new here
so im trying to play the blu ray movie, final fantasy VII advent children complete, on my pc.
My pc is an hp elite, intel core 2 quad with 4 gigs of ram and ATI Radeon HD 3650 graphics card.
my monitor is a 21 inch hp lcd monitor
i have a blu ray rom/drive and i popped the movie in, and it plays for like 5 seconds then it says:
"The content is protected. The content is not allowed to play in current display mode"
my resolution is at 1650 by 1050 pixels
im trying to play it with the "dvd play bd" software that came with my pc
my monitor is connected through DVI input

why can't i seem to play it?
any suggestions?

i have a feelinf that this is due to you connecting via DVI. I think though not entirely sure that you need to connect your computer to your monitor with HDMI or HDCP in order for blu's to play.

ugh damn really?
ok well i know what HDMI is, but what exactly is HDCP? would i be able to have some sort of an adapter to play it cause my monitor only takes DVI

using DVI is fine, but your monitor sounds like it isnt HDCP compliant.
get the app AnyDVD HD that will fix you right up
