Default HD TV question

I have a couple a bucks to burn and have decided to buy a new TV. I'm currently using a projector in my living room and it is great. I want a tv for my room now.
My question is.

???What TV has the best picture quality???

I know that many tv's are good. I was just at a store and they all look good, but every time I said that this one is the best, I look at the next and the picture quality is better. Any suggestion for 46 inch and up.

I watch Blu-rays and play the PS3 which I may use on this new TV.

not that i'm the one to be answering your question (i haven't bothered researching LCDs in a while), but a price range/limit would help the people who will be answering your question.

The best advice I can give you is to start looking at contrast ratios of 15,000 and above with 1:1 ratios and 8ms or better response times. After that, you can't go wrong.

See if the Sony 70" XBR5 (KDS-Z70XBR5) is already available in Japan.

Well then, definitely go to a local Sony Store and see if they have the following TV on display. I have looked at hundreds of TVs in the last year in preparation for a major home theatre update and this one is by far leaps and bounds above the rest (unless you look at plasma, but I hate the fact that plasma technology can be so expensive and inconvenient to repair). I'll be getting mine by the first week of December... LATEST! I might even opt for the 52" model.

I'm sure in a few months, the KDS-Z70XBR5 will come down in price. That thing is a beaut! The MSRP is US$5000 by the way.

Is there a technical term for the response time? All the TVs I've looked at have nosay on response time.
