Default Harry Potter titles

Another sign that shows how pro HD DVD warner is!

-there are a couple of blockbusters from WB wich are only available on HD DVD exclusive (matrix ect.)
-Warner Bros. ALWAYS use HD DVD optimized specs, NEVER BD's.
(please dont say its because the money , paramount did separat transfers as well)
-"we look at q4 how it plays out" well if they care about who is winning the sales, they would be allready BD exclusive.

But look at this ->

WOW!!

in my eyes, its FACT Warner Bros. is PRO HD DVD

my opinion after Q4, WB goes HD exclusive!!
Not because HD DVD is better format, the reason they are pro HD DVD, i dont know, no one here does! maybe money does.

Isn't that because Warner is waiting for 1.1 BD players that can take advantage of the special features?

After 1.1, we should be seeing Matrix, Batman Begins, V For Vendetta, etc.

IMO, WB is just seeing how sales go this holiday season to see if they want to continue with Blu-ray. If there are significant sales favoring Blu-ray over HD DVD on their titles, that may keep them in the neutral column. That's just my gut-check opinion on that however. It's the internet, we all got opinions!

Nope - they need to pump the HD DVD version more to make it sell...simple as that. Soon they will tire of it...

Can a mod change the title PLEASE! Last time we had the opposite of this it turned into a 24 hour nightmare...

Anyway to the OP, you're free to have your opinion... but it is an opinion, not a fact. The title of the thread indicates otherwise.

I disagree with your logic, also, but I'll let others deal with that.

IMO, I see it as the opposite.

They're going to see if it's worth their while to continue with HD-DVD.

Why would they stop making what they're selling more of?

The thread title needs to be changed IMO as it's simply not true. WB have never said they'll never go BD exclusive. They stated they'll look at Q4 figures and maybe decide which format to support excusively after that period has finished.

Until a Blu-ray player with PiP comes to market I don't see what WB are doing wrong. It's up to the BDA and not WB to get these players out.

If the BDA had a 1.1 player scheduled for November 1st then they should announce it to the world, otherwise WB will continue to release titles adventagous to the format that does.

I'm sure if PiP was available on both formats WB would treat both equally.

Detroit,

I thought the same thing in the past. In a sad memory of mine, I remember somebody posting about a week before the Paramount/Dreamworks deal "What if Blu-ray lost one of these studios..." (or something like that) and I, full of Blu-ray bravado, replied back "What if.." and something stupid... Yeah, I felt very stupid a week later when I came home and had my blu-ass handed to me by Paramount & Dreamworks. Who saw that coming, other than a few insiders (thanks much to all they contribute)? I see and hear a lot of anti-Sony out there on the net and in person. I know Sony is all of BDA, but the sentiment is there and that's worth looking at. As I said, it's just an opinion, like a gut-feeling... but that could just be the lingering effects of shock. There's a lot to happen this quarter and into the first of 2008.

But Paramount don't sell anything like what WB sells. Paramount sunk alot of money into the original Star Trek series and I see that loosing alot of money. I think Paramount chose the easy/lazy way out for 18 months while the BDA sort their Profile 1.1 players and optimize Java software.

Cheap players, HDi and $150,000,000 in the bank or what ever they got paid was a soft sell IMO.

Are you're saying there that you're hoping Warner goes HD DVD exclusive? A "senseless smiley" was all that was required. You came to a preposterous conclusion based heavily on one image. This type of logic is what's used over at AVS, please tell me it's not going to be used here.
