IMO, I see it as the opposite.

They're going to see if it's worth their while to continue with HD-DVD.

Why would they stop making what they're selling more of?

Detroit,

I thought the same thing in the past. In a sad memory of mine, I remember somebody posting about a week before the Paramount/Dreamworks deal "What if Blu-ray lost one of these studios..." (or something like that) and I, full of Blu-ray bravado, replied back "What if.." and something stupid... Yeah, I felt very stupid a week later when I came home and had my blu-ass handed to me by Paramount & Dreamworks. Who saw that coming, other than a few insiders (thanks much to all they contribute)? I see and hear a lot of anti-Sony out there on the net and in person. I know Sony is all of BDA, but the sentiment is there and that's worth looking at. As I said, it's just an opinion, like a gut-feeling... but that could just be the lingering effects of shock. There's a lot to happen this quarter and into the first of 2008.

But Paramount don't sell anything like what WB sells. Paramount sunk alot of money into the original Star Trek series and I see that loosing alot of money. I think Paramount chose the easy/lazy way out for 18 months while the BDA sort their Profile 1.1 players and optimize Java software.

Cheap players, HDi and $150,000,000 in the bank or what ever they got paid was a soft sell IMO.
