Hmm, I already own the amazing U.S. BD for the '70s version, but if this came with all the bonus features from the remake's 2-Disc Special Edition DVD that went missing on the U.S. BD, I'd be willing to snag this just for those alone (assuming it is region-free, that is)...

According to some pages I've found the Box contains following audio:
1968: German DTS 5.1, English DTS-HD MA 5.1, Spanish, Polish, Hungarian
Remake: German DTS 5.1, English DTS-HD MA 5.1, French DTS 5.1 .
I've also read that it's a 2 disc amaray. The 1968 version seems to be Region code free... the remake could be Region B, but I'm not sure.
Extras of the 1968 version is only the Audio Commentary. Extras of the Remake: Audio Commentary, Multi-Angels-Featurette, Making Of, Photo Gallery, Music Videos, Trailer, TV-Spots, New Scenes. (According to the German Amazon page)

Thanks Rope, there seems to be a back cover posted on amazon Germany, but the lettering is too small to make out what it says.Even though I cant make out what it says, because its too small ,you can tell from the writing , there is definitely more than the audio commentary.Ill let you guys know, when I receive mine in about 7 days here in Greece.

Actually I bought it for the original, because amazon uk dont sell it by itself, and the usa version is region locked. My copy shipped febuary 9 from amazon germany, I have yet to receive it.I e mailed them, and they said that they cant send another copy till march 11 !!!!! WTF!!!!!! Ive already received stuff from amazon uk, that shipped on the same day as amazon germany.I really cant understand why i have to wait till march 11, amazon uk is much better with stuff like that.It would only be another 7 or 8 days before amazon uk would send another copy, if I emailed them about not receiving. :angr y: :w hip:

It arrived in the mail this morning, now I can describe the 2 discs. The original 1968 version, includes everything the region A had.The 2001 version, only has the audio commentary with tim burton.

Thanks for the update; I guess that's another import I can scratch off my list (I want the copious extras that were on the DVD of Burton's version).

I am not too sure about Germany. By judging the artwork, I would say it is a pretty safe assumption to say their "Planet der Affen" is a direct rip-off of "Planet of the Apes." God, can other countries do anything without copying America?!!

Are you being serious that you think this is a German remake rather than just the German translation for the American title and American film?

Because if so something is seriously wrong.

You think of copying like Austria's "Funny Games" the rip-off of "Funny Games U.S."... Or the "Let me in" copy called "Let the right One in" ... Or maybe the japanese Copies of "The Ring" or "The Grudge"?

Oh yeah the "Planet der Affen" is a true rip off of "Planet of the Apes" we Even used the Same production Company, director, cast, Crew, Script, score... They are Even Same Camera Works and so on... It is just in German completely. We Even get it the Way we could use the English audio from the US Movies... So you won't notice any differences.
