Afro Samurai Resurrection (Manga UK) ![]() ![]() Specs: Quote:
Afro Samurai Resurrection DOES have a TrueHD track, and not a DD like the US version. It is region free, so it maybe a better alternative for those who don't want to search for a fixed US version or have to send theirs back to Funimation. The UK version of AS:R does not contain a special artbooklet like the US version however. PQ looks the same as the US version. SQ is the same for AS, and sound better for AS:R. I do not know if they use BD25 or BD50. Last edited by AnimeOnBlu; 07-02-2009 at 03:10 PM. |

Do you know if these are straight ports of Funimation's discs or does Manga UK do their own encoding? Wondering if Shigurui will have lossless Japanese audio.
In any case I'm also very happy about this deal (as well as Manga UK's own upcoming releases). Importing from the US is just too damn expensive right now. |

If I recall correctly, the US version of AS:R has a DD 2.0 soundtrack where as the UK version has a 2.0 PCM soundtrack. There maybe a slight chance Shigurui may use a Japanese 2.0 PCM as oppose to the US versions DD 2.0 Japanese. But that is just speculating at this point. You will most likely have to wait till it is released and someone to buy a copy to get confirmation. Also, the UK version of AS seems to be identical to the US version.
Thanks. Last edited by AnimeOnBlu; 07-02-2009 at 03:11 PM. |

I purchased this the other day I got it in CEX for £12 for the box set, and I'm loving it but my only complaint is that it would have been nice to watch the first one as a continuous film instead of individual episodes. Anyone else think this would be a good idea?

I have only one question about these 2 releases: is there really no subtitles at all? Not even English?
