Default Picture Quailty Asistance

I have a 42" Panasonic Plasma 720P (wanted the 1080 but could not afford at the moment). I here talk about recalibrationg your HDTV (someone payin $300 for a best by employee doing that). Will this help in picture quality? Don't get me wrong, I really have no complaints but if there is something I can do to make the picture even better, I am all for it. This my be the wrong post to bring this up (I just saw a couple posts on this topic), but any info would help. Are there paticular settings I should set my HDTV for optimum PQ?

Proper calibration will bring your display to standards and allow it to display the picture as it was intended to be seen.

The catch is that not everybody will like that "standard" picture.

That said, you can always start with something like Digital Video Essentials and do some adjustments and see if you like the improvement, if you do, you can move to have it professionally calibrated.
