UK Trainspotting picture issues! Help?

Has anyone else noticed this?

I have just attempted to watch the new Film4 release of Trainspotting but gave up after 40 mins or so as I noticed a recurring problem in the presentation. Every so often the picture seemed to freeze, making any movement following this appear 'jerky'.

Here are a few examples:
-during the opening sequence (no, not the bits that are meant to freeze!)
-when Renton and Sickboy are walking across the park just before they shoot the dog
-just as Dianne leaves the Volcano club.

Could it be a poor transfer problem? They have crammed a lot on a single layer disc. I have a PS3 with the latest update and a 52inch Sony Bravia LCD.

Could my disc be the problem? Has anyone else experienced this? Maybe it's just mine

It's a real shame, I was looking forward to this release. FYI the audio is 5.1/DTS lossy only, also. Fantastic extras though.

If I get the time I'll post more specific details of when the problems occur.

Any info would be greatly appreciated!
