Default Need knowledge from Blu Ray 'experts'.

Hi, I am doing a Graphics project for my school work focused on Blu Ray players, and am in the research stage. But as I do not have much expertise on them at all I really need help. If any could answer either or all questions that would help me so much.

1) What plastic is the case of Blu Ray Players made, like the one around PS3?

2) What are all the ports a Blu Ray player MUST have? (If you think a port may not be 100% needed but should be included please say so)

3) What noticeable differences would the insides of a Blu Ray player be compared to a DVD player? ( I ask this because I have dissassembled a DVD player.)

Well thank you for reading. If this is the wrong area for this it would help if you move this topic to where I am likely to get help.

Here's a post by kjack: https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread...610#post219610

If you look at the attached picture, that's a reference board for inside a BD player...

Can't help you with the other two... but you could try looking up that comparison of BD profiles, it likely has a list.

The only port that might be is an HDMI port, I don't think there are any spec'd "players must include".

All analog ports will be eliminated in 2012.

TYpically a BD player includes 6-channel analog out, Component, composite and S-VIdeo analog video outs, HDMI, optical and coax digital outs (last 2 sound only)

Don't forget Ethernet port (profile 2.0).

Altho not required, I would recommend an ethernet port or other internet access.
It is good for adding firmware upgrades and other updates. It can also use the new BD-j and BD-live features that require internet access.
