Default From Hell review at HDDigest

The review for From Hell is up over at HiDef Digest. PQ/AQ both a 4.5

Can't remember when I've agreed more with a review over there. No gambling involved when picking this one up.

For me, this movie looked like they tried to lighten it up for some reason (even the black bars aren't black, they're kind of more grayish). It makes it seem slightly washed out. And no, it's not my set up, as I've tested other movies and they're not the same. Even the menus seem to be lightened up. Having said that, there's no artifacting, you can see everything even though it's a dark film (obviously, since I just said it seems like they lightened everything up). I'd give this title a 3.75-4 stars for the video.

I have to assume that they did this for the movie because it is a dark movie. Dark Element carried out entirely during the film. even with Murders commited were during the night. I guess they did this to clear out the red color (Blood), and makes it stand out. that might be the reason. However, I thought this was a good movie, it deserves a 4/5.

I figured they did it on purpose. Had they not done this, I don't think many people would've been able to see what the crap was going on...
