Default The new '2012' trailer will make you cry tears of fire and carnage

Ladies and Gents:

This is the New Trailer for the movie 2012. Thought I should share it, and discuss your thoughts about this.

Here is the link:

http://popwatch.ew.com/popwatch/2009...2-trailer.html

As for me it looks great, but i get the feeling that this trailer showed everything and that the feature will be a disappointment once it comes out. The reason mainly is due to the director of the title Roland Emmerich we all know him though his great film ID4. However with every new title he directs it gets more disappointing than the one before ending with 10,000 BC.

Aug 26:

UPDATE

Japanese version of 2012 Trailer. Looks Cool.

Quote:
It must be trailer week at Sony Pictures International. Yesterday they released an international trailer for Zombieland, and today they’ve released a new Japanese trailer for Roland Emmerich’s new disaster flick 2012. It might start off similar to the previously released domestic trailer, but about half way through we begin to see a lot of scenes and sequences we haven’t seen before. We also begin to learn more about the story — where are the main characters going? How will they survive? The countdown clock is introduced.

To be honest with you, I’m more excited for this film that I should be. Yes, I’m not expecting a great movie, or even a good story, but the sequence we saw at Comic-Con with a limo outrunning an earthquake was so ridiculous yet fun, in all the ways that Transformers 2 should have been, but wasn’t. Check out the new Japanese trailer embedded after the jump. Leave your thoughts in the comments below.

Never before has a date in history been so significant to so many cultures, so many religions, scientists, and governments. 2012 is an epic adventure about a global cataclysm that brings an end to the world and tells of the heroic struggle of the survivors. Starring John Cusack, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Danny Glover, Thandie Newton and Oliver Platt. 2012 hits theaters on November 13th 2009.

UPDATE AUG 27TH:

Awesome 2012 Theatrical Banners check them out:

Quote:
Yesterday we featured a brand new Japanese trailer for Roland Emmerich's 2012, which seems to have more death and destruction than we've ever seen before. Today Empire has three new display banners for 2012 designed to be displayed in movie theater lobbies around the country. At first I was just going to say they look pretty detailed, but then I started wondering, will destruction really sell this movie? All of the advertising for 2012 (which was heavily designed by Emmerich himself) has pretty much been all about the destruction - we haven't seen John Cusack or Amanda Peet's face anywhere. But will that sell audiences?

An academic researcher leads a group of people in a fight to counteract the apocalyptic events that were predicted by the ancient Mayan calendar. Cast includes John Cusack, Amanda Peet, & Chiwetel Ejiofor.

2012 is directed and co-written by epic German filmmaker Roland Emmerich, of films like Stargate, Independence Day, Godzilla, The Patriot, The Day After Tomorrow, and 10,000 B.C. previosuly. It was also co-written by Harald Kloser, of The Thirteenth Floor, The Day After Tomorrow, Alien vs Predator, and 10,000 B.C. as well. Sony Pictures is bringing 2012 to theaters everywhere on November 13th this year!

UPDATE

AUG 28TH

THIRD BANNER REVEALED

Quote:
Centuries ago, the Mayans left us their calendar, with a clear end date and all that it implies. Since then, astrologists have discovered it, numerologists have found patterns that predict it, geologists say the earth is overdue for it, and even government scientists cannot deny the cataclysm of epic proportions that awaits the earth in 2012. A prophecy that began with the Mayans has now been well-chronicled, discussed, taken apart and examined. By 2012, we’ll know – we were warned.

John Cusack stars as Jackson Curtis, a writer whose devotion to his failed-but-possibly-brilliant novel broke up his marriage and left his family in flux. But Jackson remains a loyal dad and when the chips are down, he will prove he will do anything to save his family. Amanda Peet plays Jackson’s ex-wife, Kate, who maintains friendly contact with Jackson but has long tired of competing with his work for his attention. As the earth’s plates start to shift – destroying L.A. in the process – Jackson and his family will begin a desperate journey by land and air to survive to see the new world.

Meanwhile, at the very highest reaches of the world’s governments, there is a plan. They will not be able to save the entire human race, but they will be able to save some, and those will have the chance to begin society anew. President Thomas Wilson, played by Danny Glover, is very quick to understand the crisis the world is about to face – and equally quick to prevent mass hysteria by keeping the information secret. Chiwetel Ejiofor plays the president’s chief science advisor, Adrian Helmsley, who has managed to decode the earth’s messages and is determined to do what he can to help as many people as possible. Carl Anheuser, the president’s chief of staff played by Oliver Platt, might be pompous and quick-tempered, but he is equally determined to see society – at least, those in society who can afford it – survive.

Thandie Newton, playing the president’s daughter, Laura, is shocked to find out what her father’s government has hidden from the world. In fact, it seems that the only man outside the government with any clue as to what is about to happen is the radio host (and maybe prophet) Charlie Frost (Woody Harrelson), who broadcasts his predictions to anyone who will listen.

September 4th:

New Poster.

UPDATE:

Sept 8th:

A NEW CLIP

A merely simple scene with humor.

Quote:
Up first is the clip from 2012, courtesy of MTV. If you thought for a moment that this movie might be less idiotic than all of Roland Emmerich’s other movies, this clip should kill the doubt. BUT, there is something beautiful here. This is the clip that made me realize the awesome Zlatko Buric, who played the drug dealer Milo in all three Pusher films, is in 2012. (Here’s the trailer for Pusher 3, which is the one that really features Buric.) He’s the guy in this clip that leans up and helps John Cusack get the car started. (If you can’t see the clip, try this QuickTime link.)

Enjoy.
