Default So who says Blu is expensive?

I've only been Blu for a few weeks now. Today, being the geek that I am, I decided to calculate my average cost per each of the 20 blu-ray movies I've purchased. I've made good use of the Disney BOGOF and Sony 2 for $30 promotions, as well as the 5 free with player puchase deal, and the average cost is approx. $13 per disc. The point here is, check out the deals and you can keep your average cost in a very nice range.

I also believe in bargain hunting. I have 4 places that I buy BD movies froma nd am constantly comparing prices (I don't buy from online as I cannot be bothered and don't want to be disapointed with cancelled pre-orders).

The deals are out there you just have to be patient and look for them. I found Young Guns the other day for $12.99!

Fry's and BB are constantly running deals all the time. I usually check with these two first. Too bad I didn't get paid before the Fry's sale ended. They had titles for 9.99/ea. I would have bought at least 5-6 at that price too.

These BOGO offers don't happen often. Being frugal and such when buying Blu's is not really possible. You can save SOME money and search around but average cost of a new Blu - is around $25 bux. So those $13-15 dollar per movie costs are not going to be around forever. Don't get used to them.

Blue is only expensive if you let it be.

Blu has a tendency to be expensive. But yet since when has the best ever been cheap?

I buy used BD when they have a great deal, and I use a discount card and coupons.
But I also buy them when they have a sale.

I have spent a ridiculous amount on some of my Blu Rays, especially when I first got into it. I bought Planet Earth for $100, and It cost me $35 for Meet The Robinsons yesterday. Now I shop at secondspin.com and pawn shops for used blus, and Amazon.com, Frys.com and Walmart for new ones. I probably shouldn't say this but my friend stole me at least 10 when he was working at Walmart.

Everyone has to shop around till blu gets enough market share. If it can become mass market then pricing will settle. Take into consideration you're paying for new technology and in many cases companies are subsidizing the crap out of their product to get people to adopt. Welcome to the world of the early adopter.
