Blu Ray expensive not really?

Toshiba keeps on bringing up how expensive Blu Ray players are. Even Blu Ray players at $1000 are still cheap. This is my train of thought, my parents bought BETA, 20 years ago or more, they probably paid around $1000 for the machiene. They were making lucky to be making half of what they made back then so a $1000 machiene back then, in todays world would be $2000
