There are 2 right now that bitstream MA the 1400 and the pioneer 95. The new Sony 2000 will not do it either if you check the specs. I think the new panansonic due to be announced within about a week will. But that is just speculation based off what they have done in the past.

k heres my dilema I own the PS3 60GB and BDP-S1 and recently bought the denon avr-3808 thinking PS3 streams out cuz of the 1.3 hdmi and found out that those 2 wont bitstream DTS-MA im thinking of buying the samsung bdp1400 to get the DTS-MA, now should I wait for other sony player that will come out that will do DTS-MA or firmware that will have DTS-MA out or go for the BDP1400? will the bdp-s2000es have an update to do DTS-MA or any info/plan/update that it will come out for it?

We donot know if the Sonys will get FW updates to do MA. The SoC that is being used is capable of doing they either did not enable it or did not put all the required hardware to do it. I agree if you want to wait the Denon would be a good option but it will be 2K. If you want to do it now then the 1400 is the cheapest way to do it. And it has the Sigma 8634 Rev. C chip which can do alot more than even what it is doing. I just donot think that Samsung will do anything more with it.
Good luck |

I have to heavily endorse the Pioneer Elite 95 ALL THE WAY!!!
It will do DTS HD MA via bitstream. I'm sure it will have a kick-ass picture to boot... ...and it's only $1000 (and even lower if you find a good online buy like The Digital Bit's Power Buy section). Need I say more??? Jodi |
