Monster Announces P. Diddy-Branded Beats Earbuds

Monster just announced a new line of headphones named after noted songsmith Sean Diddy "Sean Puffy Puff Puff Daddy" P. Diddy Combs, this time as earbuds rather than the over-the-ear Dr. Dre Beats headphones.

Like Dr. Dre and Lady Gaga before him, Diddy has designed his own audio ware, with leather-wrapped earbuds in a variety of colors (including pink, for the ladies (in his Mercedes)). Availability and pricing are still to be announced, but given the past prices of the admittedly excellent but also incredibly expensive Beats line, the earbuds might, in fact, be all about the Benjamins.

Like his music, will these be made from parts of other famous earbuds?

I don't have any cool headphones, but that's pretty neat that everyone is coming out with their own merchandise.

From what I can gather, and have heard, the Dre line appears to be more for show than sound. I'm assuming these will be along the same lines.

i want to get the Dr. Dre Studio ones. Since a friend is helping getting me one for $170 after tax. I'm not an audiophile or anything. I just like the color scheme. The red and black is nice, wanted one since like 2008 but ridiculously priced.

Not really. A buddy of mine has them and I think they sound amazing. Not $300 amazing, but still amazing.

LeBron had a pair of them on before the Portland game and his were all St. Vincent St. Mary colors.. things were dope.

You can get good deals on them now. Don't waste your time on anything besides the Studio ones. I have a pair of the Studio's and they do sound pretty amazing. You would have to spend more in the range of 500 - 600 to get the same sound quality.

I caught Puff Daddy or P. Diddy, or Diddy, or whatever he's called now, pimping these on Ellen a few weeks back. I had to laugh because he said something along the lines of "with other headphones you're not really hearing the record the way it's recorded. With these you'll be hearing it exactly as it's supposed to sound." I got a chuckle out of it.

Absolutely false.

One can purchase cheaper headphones and get better quality. Or headphones of equal cost will exceed the quality of the beats headphones by a large margin. At $500-$600, one can get sound quality that makes the beats studios look like a child's toy.

I own the beats studios, and they are pleasant to listen to with decent sound quality, but they are not worth $300. I'd say at $170 they are priced well. Honestly they should sell for $200-$220, not $300+. One gets about $200 worth of sound quality out of the headphones, and pays an extra $100 for sound cancellation, a carrying bag, nice cables & adapters, and the celebrity endorsement that goes along with them. If the sound separation & sound quality were just slightly better, and the noise cancellation was slightly better, I'd say they are worth more than $300... and I'm only saying slightly better (maybe 25% better on both). However with how they are now, they just come short of where they should be at their price level.

There's also the headphones by 50 Cent .... forget what they're called but I tried on a pair in an airport in Orlando and they sounded sweet!

I gave to my kid the Dr Dre studio headphones and i did not paid the MRSP on these headphones since they are $345 CAD and got them truth another deal anyway .... The first thing that i asked myself was why this headphones needed batteries ( 2 triple A ) .

Depending on the type of music this headphones can sound great or they can be bad , not terrible . My kid listens to most rap music and R&B and they do there job , on the opposite side if you are most into Pink Floyd you will not like these headphones .

They are very well built but in a couple of hours they will become heavy .

Regarding lower priced beats like the Solo or Tour just stay away since they are just a overpriced garbage headphones .

From a quality price point this headphones are not better than a Shure studio headphones or Audio Technica Professional studio ones and they cost half less made or named Beats , just like someone said it's more show than sound .
