Default Why no Braveheart Steelbook?

With so many Gladiator Steelbooks ready to hit stores around the world in different countries, why hasn't one been done for Braveheart? I've never seen the movie completely in one shot, but the parts that Ive seen have been great so far. I'm going to enjoy it for the first time next week, but this just popped in my head, why wouldn't a steelbook be done for this one...any thoughts, thanks

Different companies with the films. It was Universals decision to do the steelbook for gladiator but I belive FOX own the rights to Braveheart in EU and would be worth asking FOX why.

Not every movie gets a steelbook. It would be nice if all movies had a steelbook release in every country and not have a steelbook limited to selected countries / stores.

Yeah, but I would figure if a movie like Troy & 300 got one in Germany, Gladiator is getting special treatment in a few countries, why not include another epic into the steel party? IMHO, I think its worth it for a movie like this...

It would be up to Fox International to do a Steelbook release. Gladiator is a Universal International release and they feel that the added cost of producing a Steelbook is worth it. Maybe Fox does not but the other issue too is that even if Fox were to do a Steelbook, Fox supports region coding heavily so there is a very strong chance that Braveheart will be Region B. Thus rendering a Steelbook import purchase a waste of money. To add even more insult to injury, if a UK Steelbook were to exist and you bought that; you would purchase a censored version of the film. Of course, if its region locked, you wouldn't know the difference anyway.

The US & Canadian release is through Paramount and they also have not done a Steelbook for Braveheart nor has Dreamworks done it for the US & Canadian release of Gladiator.

I love steelbooks. I just don't like to double dip (unless they're under $10). lol.

I don't double dip either. I like steelbooks, but I don't buy movies for the packaging, nor will I pay more just to get one.

My initial reaction to the thread title....Because a steelbook would make a terrible pillow. I can't watch Braveheart without falling asleep.

I double dipped on 3 for steelbooks. Shawshank (it's my favorite movie), and then Batman Begins and Dark Knight, just so I could have all 3 batman films in steelbooks.
