Crash (2004) - Blu-ray Forum

I just bought Crash at Wal-mart for $10.00. I read afew posts that stated this movie didn't look very well, that it looked like a plain DVD. Is it worth the $10.00 I paid for it or should I get my money back?

I was at Walmart considering the same purchase. I had that in one hand and Young Guns in the other, and I didn't end up buying either. Then I read a few reviews on both, and I'm kind of glad I didn't bite - even at the $10 price point.

Crash is an awesome movie. One of my favorites. But I heard that the BD was horrible.

Crash is a very good movie but one of the worst Blu-ray movies. I would definitely take it back. BTW, same story with The Italian Job.

It is a great film for sure. As for the transfer it's not the best looking ever, but it is certainly better than the DVD, which is all that matters. It's definitely an improvement.

For what it's worth, I was expecting Crash to look ungodly bad.. I would go as far to say it's HD-light at best. Just barely showing it's HD side. It's worth it if you like the movie but if your just trying to get you HD-fix done on the cheap, look for another title.

Now I've got to watch it to see what all the fuss about the transfer is about!

I got it at amazon for $10.49. It got a 2.5 for both video and audio, but a 4.5 for the movie. I love this movie and for $5 more than it cost to rent it, I own it.

For $10, go for it. It's a unique movie, and many people who have seen it will talk about it. Although its transfer is not as good as it could be, it's also not a movie which really needs the most stunning visuals to make its most important points.

Moviefan1203 made a good point. It's absolutely better to watch on BD than DVD. If it was a $25 or $30 BD, then I'd say you could pass on it if it doesn't fall under a "must-have" title for you, but for $10, any Blu-ray fan can afford it, and it makes a nice addition to any BD collection.

I bought the Crash BD on the cheap, and I don't regret it. I've never seen the DVD, but the Blu-ray transfer is not bad.

Taking it back wouldn't make any sense. The movie is awesome and it is a step up over DVD.

The problem on here most of the time is that you have Blu - rays that earn a 5 in PQ and some that are better than a DVD but not anywhere near a 5, so doesn't that mean that you shouldn't buy it?

Well, that's your decision. To me, any improvement over a DVD is worth a buy ESPECIALLY AT 10 BUCKS.

I got it for $7.98 today (Future Shop) so can't go wrong there,and it's a great movie.

What a phenomenal film. Probably the best film I've seen in the last year. Great story, great acting, great cinematics. Just brilliant all around. No wonder it won best picture back in 2005. Can't believe I had never heard of/seen this before tonight.

Kind of sad that the video quality isn't good on blu ray though. I watched it on Netflix. Hopefully it gets updated soon. Will definitely buy it if it does.

really? an entire movie about various people with a stick up their ass about something. I thought it was rather exploitative to be honest and was just complete crap, the big fuss over this film probably ruined it for me
