![]() ![]() Universal Music will release a Blu-ray edition of the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest on 23 June 2017. This will be only the second Blu-ray edition since EMI released the 2011 edition. It seems that it will be a three disc set (as with the DVD), and include "more than 8 hours" of content. The contest is not until next month, but the pre-order is already up at various web sites, and the EAN is 0602557380095. Amazon pre-orders should go live shortly, too. |

Why? Just because you don't like it don't make it bad.
I'd certainly much rather watch and enjoy Eurovision 2017 than listen to the latest album by or see in concert Radiohead/Ed Shearing/Kasabian (just saw an ad for their new album, surprised they still exist)/Rag and Bone Man or whatever shite's being hyped by the BBC/Guardian/NME (does that still exist?) this week. |

I used to enjoy it.
As easy as it is to blame Europe for not liking us, we don't do ourselves any favours by constantly picking a shower of sh*te to represent us year after year.... That being said, I look forward to our bottom of the table finish this year. ![]() |

The show is usually a good spectacle, but jeez, the voting is predictable shite, with the same countries voting the same every year. When are they going to learn that you have to vote for your favourite song, not your neighbour.

But give me the above entertaining silliness over Gary Barlow on Children In Need or Kanye West at Glastonbury any day. |

I love Eurovision! The cheese and questionable musical quality of a lot of the entries is part of the magic, you can't take it too seriously.
That said, it feels like a one-time experience to me. It's the fun of seeing the performances for the first time and the excitement of the voting and seeing who wins. After that, how rewatchable is it? Not that I've ever tried. |

For once I skipped the Swedish contests entirely and I might just skip the ESC entirely as well. Last year I only watched the Swedish finale of the "Melodifestivalen" and the ESC and came to the conclusion that Justin Timberlake should have won.

The Eurovision Song Contest AKA The Annual UKIP Fundraiser.
Seriously, it's a good laugh, but all it does is prove that Mainland Europe knows bugger all about good music. Corrupt voting is inherent and the winner is ALWAYS crap (this year being no exception). Britain's entry was well sung, but dull. I found myself rooting for Romania's original hip-hop-yodel: |
