The zany twosome is back for some smoke-enhanced misadventures in this riotous comedy. This time, Cheech must deal with an angry neighbor and losing his job, all while trying to score with a sexy young lady.

Meanwhile, Chong meets Cheech's cousin, Red (Cheech Marin in a dual role), and the two buds have a wild time buzzing around Hollyweird in a bad Ferrari. Along the way, the dynamic duo find time for some mishaps at a movie set, the welfare office, a hotel, a brothel, a music store, a rich girl's house, a comedy club, the ultimate weed field and a UFO-all before the second reel! This outrageous comedy features early film appearances by Paul "Pee-wee Herman" Reubens, Edie McClurg, Cassandra "Elvira" Petersen, John "Jambi" Paragon and Phil Hartman.

Interesting choice. I can't recall much about the sequels, though I overplayed Up in Smoke enough as a teen to the point where it just wasn't that funny when I watched it again a few months ago.

Paramount unfortunately so we'll see if we ever get it on blu ray. The first 25 minutes of that movie is probably the hardest I've ever laughed in my life.

Up In Smoke is easily the best and funniest of their films. It's a crime there isn't a blu ray release. Never been much of a fan of the sequels which suffered from the law of diminishing returns, in my opinion. I'll pass on this one.

C&C never topped Up In Smoke, but I still remember seeing this on a double bill with The Blues Brothers at my local drive-in back in the day and getting a lot of laughs out of it. C&C's movies really don't hold up too well now, but this could be a nostalgic purchase for me.

Shout has announced this as well as Where The Buffalo Roam per their licensing deal with Universal, could The Nude Bomb be in the offing?

Oddly the Bill Murray movie Stripes was supposed to be a Cheech and Chong film but they wanted complete creative control so Bill Murray and Harold Ramis came on board instead. That's actually where the extended Island scene comes into play on the extended cut of Stripes where Harold Ramis gets high on all of the drugs. That was the only existing part of the original Cheech and Chong version.

Hopefully the TV cut will be included as an extra!

It's unfortunate that Paramount will probably sit on Up In Smoke in terms of a blu ray release. One of the funniest vignettes in the film is the "Ajax Lady"

I know man it's a real bummer. Paramount is so frustrating. I'm also worried that if they eventually release it they won't at least port over the extras from the dvd (which they frequently don't) let alone any new special features.

I thought the first three were all great. Things Are Tough All Over is where the rot set in for me.

I thought the proverbial well went dry for Cheech and Chong with the second movie. Everything that followed was kind of embarrassing. I remember seeing their stand up routine long ago, and they were hilarious. Their brand of comedy was certainly a reflection of a bygone era.
