Default Canadian PS3 Gaming Community - Please Respond

I am a proud Canadian. Ya, ya, it's been said before but all Canadians know that the Molson Canadian beer commercials kick ass!

We, including our neighbours to the south, are extremely fortunate to live in the country's we do, to have pretty much everything at our disposal and to live as freely and turmoil free as we do.

I was one of the first Calgarians to get PS3 when it launched (and I didn't have to line up for hours or days as some) last November and was elated that the online network was made so easy to set up and FREE!!!

I am really tuned into playing Ghost Recon 2 now and I really enjoy the chance to play with and against players from all over the planet. This morning, for example, I played with guys (and girls) from the U.S., UK, Japan, Australia, Spain, France and other places I'm sure and it was fantastic. We get talking and it's mostly a pleasure to find out the countries these players are from, what time it is there and what they do for a living (when they're not gaming).

We are lacking something though, I feel it's a strong Canadian Contingent - an all Canadian Clan if you will. We certainly all have our preferences and we all come from different walks of life, ages, sexes and backgrounds but I would like to see how many of you Canucks are out their, battling it out on the battle fields, sports fields, fantasy fields and so on.

Hell, you could be my neighbour and I don't even know it.

Please respond by telling me your PS3 online name, where you're from, what games you are currently enjoying and maybe, just maybe, we can build that All-Canadian Clan and kick some World Ass together!

I tried Resistance on line twice... the second time i barely moved from my spawning spot a foot and got nailed 8 times in a row so I gave up. Couldn't even move from the spot for crap sakes! I'd spawn in and before I moved a step... bang, dead guy walking! I need time to get around the map... to familiarize myself with the terrain but no one gives you the chance. Seems like some people who know the game so well because they don't do anything else in real life but play the on-line games 24/7, know exactly where the other half will spawn. All they have to do is sit and wait. Kinda stupid. That's not a game even if I was on the other end of the gun! I'd play Rainbow Six as well as Ghost Recon if I stood half a chance of moving from my damn spawning spot! Dopey buggers. My on-line moniker is mrbullitt not that you'd ever see it at this rate.

Nice thread, Wheelman. I am also from Calgary (to prove this, I will say that I am currently undecided on whom I will vote for on the 15th's civic election. While Bronco has done good things for this city with regards to getting more money from the province, I fear his "liberal" ideologies and penchant for greater personal income taxes are making me lean towards voting for Alnoor. I haven't decided on my Alderman (ward 8) yet, either. I still feel like punishing Madeline King for the whole "yellow ribbon" fiasco.).

Anyhoo... while it's a great concept, I fear I would have to decline any invitation to an All-Canadian, All-Blu PS3 clan, as I long ago found my home in those regards. I belong to the @NUTZ@ clan which has it's roots in the SOCOM video game franchise, and is led by fellow Blu-ray advocate DezNutz (who is not Canadian, btw. He hails from Nebraska, where Sandro DeAngelis played for the Corn Huskers prior to being drafted by the Stampeders as their placekicker <-- see more Calgary proof! )

My PSN ID is BorrowedTime. Any friend requests on the PSN, unfortunately, may be declined as I am very near my 50 person friendlist limit (Sony REALLY needs to address that.)

Nice to see a few reponses so far. Tell any and all your Canadian PS3 gamer friends about it and Blu-Ray.com. Any other suggestions are certainly welcome.

I be a Canuck, eh! But, my involvement online is limited to FOLDING@HOME right now. My gaming won't begin until the New Year. Then, and only then, shall I answer the call to war. LOL
