Basic Instinct and Lionsgate - Blu-ray Forum

I recently bought the descent from Lionsgate (region 1) yet it still plays on my region B PS3. Can someone confirm for definite that Basic Instinct will not play on region B players.

I read somewhere here that the title can be released as region free one year after the initial release. Will that be the case here?

But Basic Instinct is an old catalogue title anyway, so would already be region free if that were the case. I suspect it will remain region locked due to rights issues, e.g. in the UK the rights are owned by Studio Canal and it's HD DVD exclusive (for now, Studio Canal are supposed to have become neutral, so we'll hopefully get this and other movies on UK Blu-ray at some point).

Cool. The sooner they become neutral. I thought France had a large BD market so its suprising that SC is HD-DVD exclusive.

Speaking of region coding is Tudors region coded? I haven't been able to find any info on it and id love to get it if it's not.
