Default NBC Nightly News to air commentary about current state of affairs in the HD war

Just learned from my broker that tomorrow night (Friday) at 6:30pm EDT, NBC Nightly news will be airing something regarding this HD war. Not sure this will be good news considering the timing...but I could be wrong.

The plot thickens. I think I will have to record that.

I don't like that... NBC is biased cause they are owned by Universal.
I don't think this will be good at all unless they can REALLY separate themselves and their reporting from their primary owner.

Since its NBC, its most likely about the cheapass crappy A2 players. Remember M$ and NBC are in bed together.

I doubt that will happen. Every place has bias. engadgethd is very pro bd, highdefdigest is pro hddvd.

Off topic, NBC nightly news is the best HD news coverage I have that is free over-the-air programming in my area. The PQ is outstanding. I will definitely tune in for this coverage.

Good point. It is all one big plot to sell more A2 players while hurting Blu-ray at the same time.
I don't normally watch the news myself (no news is good news I say), but I know a lot who do. I really still think this is TOO biased to report on.
If it was something like CNN or AP, maybe it would be less biased.. but it would be like FOX reporting on it... in fact maybe they should.

If it is an actual journalist that does the reporting, they are absolutely liable for the validity and "truthiness" ( ) of the facts reported.
Now, there is always different ways of reporting facts...

We shall see.

To Paraphrase the Great Steven Colbert:

"It is well known that Reality has a Blu Bias. Thus, acting logically, Toshiba has chosen to live outside of Reality."

I hope this isn't a preview. Sounds pretty biased.

dont panic on the small stuff....

Disney is proving that they are making a bigger and bigger push. Warner is doing the same... the ads will come, the news will hit.

This is so obvious .. We know what they will say! Poor misinformed dumb a$$ consumers will purchase an inferior version of a inferior format player.

Not the amount of stories rather when you read the article it comes off as pro-bd.

That article is biased. Throws Warner Brothers on the HD DVD side and doesn't mention them on the Blu-Ray side.

Edit: looks like u beat me to it Musashi

I didn't see any bias. I think he brought up the talking points from both sides.

I missed time warner relating to warner brothers. Are they related?

If the report is biased look on the bright side...
1) NBC Nightly News is not the highest ranked right now
2) ABC Nightly News, is the highest ranked and they could counter next week with the blu-ray is better investigative news story. (Remember ABC is owned by Disney)

Besides if they do not disclose their parent affiliation and support then there is the potential for all kinds of trouble

Yes that was a very biased article. I guess reporters have to support their companies business partners.

Geez, yeah, I hope it's not that biased. On a different note, there is poll there and blu-ray is ahead. You also don't have to register to vote so I did my part.

You're joking right? Please point any pro-BD or anti-HD-DVD points there.
