Spielberg's TAKEN - Has Anyone Watched it on BR Player Yet?

This has no planned 'high-def' release to my knowledge. Since it was Sci-Fi Network (Universal), it's likely weighted HD DVD if it ever does go High-Def.

DreamWorks hold the rights to it. But DW is HD DVD only at the moment.

As has been stated here many times before, just because something is on a network associated with a studio that is exclusive with one format or another does not make it affiliated with that studio.

However, you would be correct that "Taken" would be weighted HD DVD since it is a DreamWorks release, but since Spielberg has a clause in the DreamWorks/HD DVD contract, any release could come to Blu-ray as well... though I wouldn't expect one any time soon.

Also, note that the OP was asking if the DVD version of "Taken" looked good upconverted on a Blu-ray player, or if he should wait for the Blu-ray release (whenever that may be).
