Default My next tv advice

So I"m in the market for a new tv, probably won't buy it for a while though so things may change by the time I get it, but...would you guys choose the 58 Pany plasma or the 52 XBR5. And no, I'm not worried about the glare of a plasma, so that is not a factor in the decision. Thoughts?

depends on what you are going to do with your tv. if you are going to game more get the lcd. if you are going to watch movies get the panny plasma. thats my opinion.

the xbr4 or xbr5 will have a better PQ than the panny plasma, but you'll pay more for 6" less.

the 52 sony you should be able to find for around 3500 - 4000, the 58 panny can be found for 3k or so.

but the pq of the xbr4 so far is just simply amazing. i like the panny's but the sony gets em hands down

I'll be using it for movies. I've been leaning towards the XBR but sorta wanted something bigger than 52 and the 58 panny is a nice tv, so it's sort of a comprimise I guess. More than likely once I make my purchase it'll be the xbr.

Im in the same boat you are. I have a 56" DLP that I bought in February. I will wait until the OLED comes out. my 1080p projection works just fine. The picture is very sufficient for now.

The panny 58" i have not seen for below $3699 at sears, maybe online stores have them cheaper. BB is advertising it at $4049 right now. i saw the sony xbr4 advertised on BB for $3499 from $4499, $1000 off right now. they must be wanting to move them now that the holiday season is here.

You're in for any extremely long wait for a big screen version. OLED is expected to be out first of these. Initially you'll be able to pick up a 19" model for about $3,500. About $1,000 estimated for the 11" version, and 27" models are also expected, but haven't seen a $ on them.

. It will be years before these are larger and priced competitively.

Sony and Pioneer rank highest in customer satisfaction according to J.D. Power & Associates, and PC Magazine.

I'm in the market too and I've narrowed it down to these three...(btw, these are links to the cheapest prices I've seen). All these are 50" and plasma.
