Default BD/DVD Hybrids

would you buy one of the new BD/DVD hybrids if they came out. As I tend to go round to my freinds alot who sometimes don't have BD players I think it would be quite usefull. 50GB BD and 8.5GB DVD sounds good to me.

I would buy if they were the only blu option for a movie I wanted, but I think the disadvantages of combo discs outweigh the advantages.

Giving them to your kids to use and they get trashed.

No i would not. waste of money. If I had a choice, I'd get the cheaper BD only copy.

Did the hd dvd/dvd combo work on consumers? Would it could increase blu-ray sales cause of neutral people because if blu-ray lost they would still have the dvd side which would work in there hd dvd players.

Well, costing more is enough for me.

They could arguably extend the life of the DVD format and delay our plans for blu to conquer the world.

I have heard some HD-DVD combos have also had issues playing properly, unless that is just FUD.

Not a chance. They would probably have issues like the HD-DVD combos, and Warner officially has ditched that effort anyways.

The thing about that is HD DVDs didn't work in the firstplace nevermind when you try to make combo discs. however blu is a perfect and allot less buggy as im sure many of you have noticed, so it probably would work.

No way in hell! I hate double sided discs. I just tell my broke ass friends to get with the program and get a PS3.

Blu-Ray might have enough room to put both on the same side.

I'll just say... no. I hate double-sided discs (for instance some fullscreen/widescreen DVD's.) Plus it would cost more, and not be worth it. When DVD's came out, you wouldn't buy a DVD with a VHS on the back (even if that was possible).

I'd buy them as presents for friends without blu-ray players. A little motivation!
