Default Observations from Close Encounters

Does Melinda Dillon ever put on a bra in the entire movie?
Was that Lance Henriksen among the group of "scientists" at the end?
Did Roy Neary even think twice about leaving his family behind?
It's a shame about Teri Garr.
It took 30 years of technology to be able to see this film correctly in the home.

Funny how the first thing you commented on was the lack of bra. LOL

Did anyone else notice in the directors cut during the song that john williams did at the end he takes a small piece of "when you wish upon a star" and puts it in his song? I thougt that was pretty cool.

OK I did a quick search on her. Evidently she has lots of health issues. MS, and a brain aneurism a year ago...

Yeah, she was hot as the dickens back in the day!

Who’s complaining? Are you complaining? LOL....

Maybe it's just me but in some small way I feel vindicated by the release of this movie over Transformers!

Not complaining at all. I just thought there was some motivation for lack of boob gear in her first scene. Then every scene after, she is still braless. Not that they are big puppies to begin with...

The amazing thing about this movie on blu-ray is that it really does seem like it could have been filmed yesterday. Seeing these actors in their prime so clearly is kind of bizarre knowing what will happen to them 30 years later. It is definitely like taking a time machine back to 1977.

I kept thinking that it would be cool to do a sequel where Neary arrives back on earth to meet his family. They couldn't do it with Dreyfus, because the character would not have aged during his time on the ship.

The WWII pilots portrayed in the movie vanished 30 years before returning to earth. We are now 30 years past the time the movie was made. They didn't even have cable in the movie, let alone satellite, home computers, "cell" phones.
