Default Close Encounters

Can anyone tell me if the UK Close Encounters is any different from the US and is it Region free? I won't put up with the cardboard packaging that the US version comes in.

Thanks!

I have the UK edition... it IS in a cardboard box... but i actually think it's very nice... it comes with a cool little paperback book full of pictures, and a poster

Quite frankly, for the £10 that it can be found most online places these days... it's a fair better purchase than some of the crap discs i've wasted far more money on

Ah crap. Ok, thanks! On Amazon.co.uk, it shows it in a normal case. I guess I'll have to pass on this...Yes I'm serious about packaging.

I honestly think the packaging is very nice - it doesn't feel cheap in any way... in fact it feels quite expensive.... as lv426 said, it's nice thick cardboard, and it is also the same size as a normal blu case, so when it sits on your shelf it just looks like a blu with a slip cover on.

It was one of the first Blu Ray's to use seamless technology for all three versions to fit on one disc. Not to mention that it also contains two lossless audio tracks, DTS-HD MA and Dolby True Hd. A really nice feature is that you can watch any version of the movie and it will show you what was added or removed from the cut you are watching.

I removed the disks from my Rambo case, as it has an extra snap for the digital copy, and put the Close Encounters disks in it, along with a custom cover. I put the Rambo movie disk in an extra Blu case I ordered off the internet, and put the digital copy in a jewel case.

Ok, regarding packaging, would you choose Target's Iron Man (Blu-ray Disc) cover vs the standard Blu?
