Default New Polk TSX Series Speakers

I just upgraded my Front and Center Speakers. Picked up a L/R TSx220B and a center TSx150C. I have an Onkyo HT-R580 AV Receiver that I hooked them up too. The original package came with 24 gauge wires but I upgraded that to 16 gauge instead. Can't wait to try this mix out.

Honestly I never paid attention to the audio settings but after some weekend reading I made some adjustments to the receiver as well. The settings had my front L/R set to large so I set them to small. My crossover was 100hz which I set to 80hz. I noticed during testing The center was having a high pitched spike but turning on the cinema-filter seems to have corrected that issue. Looks like the Audyssey EQ and Dynamic EQ were already activated and I set the A/V sync to 0mm (was at 20mm).

Will try a full on film tonight but from some sampling I did it sounds so much better then the original speakers my Onkyo package came with.

So far, that ins't a good idea. That is a problem. Whatever audyssey set your HZ, you can raise them but not lower them.

I had read that since Audyssy had the front L/R speakers set to Large that's why is HZ crossover was set 100. Everywhere I read states the Front should be set to small which is why other people adjusted the HZ

I think you are on the right track. Messing with and adjusting the settings is the only way to really understand what you like. Trial and error really. If it sounds good then give it a whirl. If it gets all messed up you can just run the audessy setup again and just change what you want. Sound is a really subjective thing. Hamp is probably right about the setting but you adjust to how you like it. Try 80Hz then watch the same scene with 100Hz. If it one or the other sounds good. Go for it.

Well, you changed them from large to small and also adjusted the HZ, which is fine, but you shouldn't go lower with the HZ, you can adjust higher.
