Default Anyone else feel like a crack addict??

I feel like the more movies I buy, the more I want to keep buying them. Even some that I don't think I'd really like. I can't stop. I need rehab. But I love them so much. Requiem for a Blu-ray...

I think it partially due to the war, we want to support the winner but we also want to buy it due to the quality

i was in target today to get cat food, toliet paper and some socks for my wife. I walked out with the above and Ratatoille (sp?). I originally had no intention of buying that movie, much less any other. The nice pretty new blu-ray display got me.

I loved the movie though. IMO it's the best thing disney has put out in a very long time.

You may want to think about renting (Netflix, etc.) again - don't get trapped in obsessive collector mode, where you end up buying movies you really don't like. (Look at all the people that buy movies based on 'image quality reviews' -- or just buy everything.) Eventually, you won't have enough time to watch any of them. I know many recovering so-called collectors.

Anyway, the "war" is stupid. Don't be a sucker. Well, unless you get a kick out of burning cash... which I know a few that do.

Its so easy to get caught up on this deal. Every electronics store I go to, every place that sells movies, I'm looking for blu's now. I even started calling the pawn shops!!!

Addicted? Hell yeah!

nemo didn't do much for me. Toy Story would've been good. I am wondering though why they put a trailer for the bluray of Sleeping Beauty on the front of Rat. when it won't even be available for another year. For those who actually liked the story (not one myself), it's a killer of a teaser. Kinda like what they've done with Battlestar Galactica (no new episodes for almost a year).

My wife thought I was crazy for calling the pawn shops

Most didn't even knew what it was. One guy actually said he got himself a blu-ray player (BD-P1200) for $130 when one poor sap needed money and sold it. What a steal

I guess it's one thing if you just buy them for the sake of buying them (not that there is anything wrong with that ;-). But if you watch them and enjoy them, then what is wrong with that? My wife is a flight attendant, so when she's away (like tonight), I get to really stretch the legs of my home theater and crank it! I have around 15 unopened BDs from the last few BOGOs sitting on my coffee table. I just finished watching Full Metal Jacket: Deluxe Edition. Man, that is an excellent film! I'd go so far as to say the best Vietnam War movie ever made.

Now, I'm firing up the Prestige. I read a biography of Nikola Tesla and even though the movie only touches upon him briefly, after the movie is over I intend to watch the special feature entitled, Tesla: The Man Who Invented the Twentieth Century. Tesla was a man out of time.

The previous few days I've watched Pearl Harbor, Eyes Wide Shut, Roving Mars, and the Pixar Shorts. Do I have a problem? If enjoying movies presented to me as good or better than my theatrical viewings means I have a problem then, yeah, I'm nuts! Blu-ray brings movies to life in a whole new way for me. It's incredible. Thank you, BDA!

At first I bought a bunch off ebay, but As I became more deticated I realized my sales on amazon or retail stores are a better was to support the format.
