error on Close Encounters of the third kind?

hey guys, i was reading the back of the package and it says "Richard Dreyfuss stars as cable worker Roy Neary, who along with several other stunned bystanders experience a close encouter of the FIRST kind - witnessing UFOs..., ...that have drawn them to reach a site where they will have a close encouter of the third kind - contact"

i'm not fimilar with this movie and haven't watched it yet but I think they might made a mistake, or anyone can explain to me why they call it "close encounter of the FIRST kind", thanks

There are SEVEN types of encounter! I only found out recently. If only Spielberg had known there may well have been a trilogy of 'Encounter' movies. Too late now Steve!

According to the Wiki article, the extended exchange between the Earthers and the spaceship at the end of the movie, with the famous musical exchange, would classify as an encounter of the fifth kind.
