Default Screams of a Winter Night (1979)

Figured I would make an official thread for this as it has been on fire with popularity since its staggered release, which overwhelmed the startup Dark Force label. Only 500 copies remain of its initial print run for Blu-ray.com horror enthusiasts who were not aware - a good deal of the whats left of the print run will be going on sale this afternoon 2/23/19 when the Dark Force Superstore reopens (don't know the time yet, but DF will likely update their FB page in a few hours with the time).

I actually watched it myself last night and thought it had great atmosphere. Note the Blu-ray has two cuts of the film on a BD50, but only the Director's Cut is fully restored and color corrected (the far better cut, IMO, as the theatrical cut is missing a whole story that was intended to be included but was filmed too dark for theaters at the time).

Screams of a Winter Night is available now on Blu-ray via Code Red. It has been restored in 2K from the original 16mm camera negative. Limited to 1,000 copies, you can grab it for $26.95 from Dark Force Entertainment.

The obscure 1979 horror anthology is the only film directed by James L. Wilson. Matt Borel, Gil Glasgow, Patrick Byers, and Mary Agen Cox star.

Screams of a Winter Night includes both the theatrical cut and the never-before-seen director’s cut, which includes a long lost fourth story. Special features are listed below.

Special features:
124-minute director’s cut
Theatrical cut
Interview with actor Gil Glasgow

A group of college students are spending a weekend away at a remote cabin. To pass the time, they decide to tell scary stories to one another. The first story focuses on a couple being terrorized by a Bigfoot-like creature while in the woods. The second story follows a group of fraternity brothers who spend the night in an abandoned hospital reputed to be haunted; while the third story concerns a young woman who begins to lose her grip on reality after experiencing an attempted rape. After telling their stories, they discuss an alleged wind spirit who haunts the lake near the cabin in which they are staying which becomes the most terrifying story of them all.
