Germany The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug Collector's Edition (Amazon.de Exclusive)

Quite pricey, but it includes something I had hoped would be include with the AUJ Collector's Set - bookends of the Dwarven Guard statues outside of Erebor! Hopefully other countries will get it as well:

Please to come the US and UK...I would love to have those Dwarven bookends. I'll be honest, I'll probably pay whatever they ask for them. The statue set for the Extended Edition was first announced on Amazon.de quite a while before it was officially listed on the other Amazon sites so I'd say there's a relatively good chance we'll see it on the others.

Damn you, Warners UK, for being stingy with these for us! We didn't even get the Bilbo/Gollum statue option with the AUJ:EE. I'd be very happy if they surprised me and released this over there though, I thought the Erabor bookend idea was a perfect one.

They can have my money, no matter the cost. That would look nice with the LOTR:FOTR EE statues.

There's not even photos of the actual bookends/what's inside the boxset in-hand.. Won't hurry up and get this. There's also a Korean steelbooks release for the Trilogy that comes inside a nice looking boxset

Someone linked this picture yesterday..no idea where it's from yet but it's got me VERY interested. Since it looks like it's all in English hopefully this will hit the states as well.

Would prefer to see something like this with the extended version, but it does look very nice.

This would look very nice next to Amazon exclusive diorama for the first film. Here's to hoping the US gets this!

The price tag seems to be also double of the usual SEE collector's giftset, so it might be of a better quality. 25000 also seems quite low (if the limitation is worldwide).

[Show spoiler]
Wow, may have to spring for that. Would go great with the Argonath statue bookends from the Fellowship of the Rings DVD CE.

The 25K might just be for that country....kind of like the Man of Steel tin and TDKR broken cowl set, each got different numbered quantitles in different countries.
Obviously this is a different studio, so that might not be the case.

Why, the studio is the same (Warner).

Oh man, what a botch on my part!
I was thinking New Line, I guess because, at the time, I was thinking about the EE dvds.

Well my botch aside, maybe Warner will treat this the same as those numbered releases I mentioned? I sure hope so, as I absolutely love collecting numbered special editions!

At least we know that this will most likely be released worldwide, rather than just being exclusive to one country. Warner goes buck-wild with releasing this collector's editions and I'm perfectly fine with that!

Yes indeed! That was the point I was trying to make before I botched the studios!
Now, hopefully WM releases a digibook to match the first film, and BB a steelbook!

If they keep showing awesome editions like the MediaMarket steelbook with Thorin, I could very well find myself buying this movie three times on release day haha.
