I have been wondering, the way DVD discs were used to bring superior audio quality in the form of DVD-Audio, are there any plans to do something similar with Blu-ray for audio?

How many hours of great-quality audio could one store on a BD-Audio disc anyway?

An Audio format has not been announced but there has been two new audio formats added to the standard (optional) from DTS and Dolby, both are supposed to be lossless.

They are supposed to support LPCM lossless audio. goto the dolby web page for more info.

They have released Blu-Ray Pure Audio discs search Amazon. I bought The Who Quadrophonia & John Lennon imagine & Queen & CSNY lots of others great sound.

There's really no need to. CD audio is uncompressed. The fact that compressed MP3 and Itunes are replacing CDs, it just goes to show how little people care about sound quality. So, I doubt BD-Audio will become successful.

I've actually listened to CDs and BDs for so long now that I can't stand the way MP3s sound. The high and low ends are just horrible.
