Default A semi important note to think about

When the ps3 was first introduced, Sony wanted to make the game detail just as good as a movie. Fastforward to now, and take NBA live 2007 for example. A sports game like this should look the same as a real live TV show. Anyway, if you took NBA live 2007 and took a sports game on TV and put the two side by side, the looks should be the same. My point being is will ps3 games look just as good as the real life TV parts? We would get to a point where we couldn't tell the real world from the simulated world. I think this will happen. It might depend on what kind of TV you are using.

I doubt this will happen for a while. The textures and raytracing involved are much too much for most computers these days to even render let alone real time graphics.

I will say that most of the ps3 games that I have seen look better then ps2 games, but it's hard to say where the look for a ps3 game falls.

Says a lot about the human brain, how it can render realtime a 3D image from the information recieved by the eye.

Sony stressed a lot on the graphics and the interactivity... Now...
We'll just have to wait and see.

Keep in mind that the ps3 is a supercomputer, this means that you can do more on the ps3 that wasn't possible on the ps2. In terms of looks, the ps3 can go up to 1080p, but whether or not the feature is used, depends on whether or not the game supports the resolution and if the buyer has a TV that supports the resolution.

Well, you look at Fight Night Round 3 on PS3 and you wonder what FNR4 will be like.

I think one of the EA games, NBA I think, is pulling in live sports results off the net in game, there's a step to being closer to TV.

With the fight night series, even though I'm not a fan of the series, I have seen previews where the boxer will actually sweat through the match. This is something that you didn't have on the ps2 that is now possible on the ps3. NBA live 2007 is an example of at times, you can't tell real from simulated. The AI is also better then before. With NBA live, you now have the AI run in a full 360 degrees around the court among other new things.
