Germany The Second Coming 3D Blu-ray (2014) [Region B Locked]

Does anyone own this movie and can comment on the quality of the 3D?
I believe there are two editions available, one from Germany and another from Holand, both with english subtitles.

Wondering which one to get? Any forced subtitles on either edition?
This is a native title and before it goes out of print...

I have the German one, the movie is ok, the 3D is OK. I wasn't mad about it. It comes with selectable English subtitles.

My thoughts back from when I last watched it:

I like 3D horror films - lots of empty space for something to appear in and lots of opportunities for entertaining pop-outs. Unfortunately, there are no entertaining pop-outs in this movie. But there is almost constant medium pop-out, with furniture, people, branches etc all appearing out of the screen. Nothing in-your-face but enough to make sure that you know you're watching in 3D.

It was shot in native 3D, so depth is natural and pleasing - my main gripe once again relates to flat subtitles which clash with the pop-out, a lot of which is centrally positioned. At least you can turn them off, though that's not much help if you don't speak German or Cantonese.

It's not my favourite Herman Yau movie (that would be Ebola Syndrome) and not all of it works - there's some dodgy CGI smoke and a Poltergeist-y scene that comes off a bit cheap, it didn't really feel like a big budget movie even though it includes a car crash. The setup made me think it would be more stupid than it ended up being. Your dog digs up a jar of glowing green smoke. So you open it right in front of your face? But just when the film got me to lower my guard and dismiss it as just your usual possessed by a ghost silliness BANG comes a flash of gore and then to seal the deal OUCH comes a very strong bit of violence and it's all wrapped up in a very adult-themed tale, with a spooky twist of course.

I started off fairly meh about it but by the end I'm really glad I took a chance on this one (I'm always nervous when I buy things without having seen the back cover, Amazon listings aren't always right about audio and subtitles). I would have liked the 3D used for more than atmosphere, but I'll take real 3D atmosphere over flat 2D any day.

Thanks for that. I ended up getting the Dutch edition as the german one on Amazon.de won’t ship to the UK.
I have a feeling they will be the same exact master as the german disc also has dutch subtitles.

Received my blu-ray today. The Dutch edition turned out to be 2 discs, which was a nice surprise. I always prefer dedicated 3D discs.

This time no 3d either so was wondering whats wrong as had put in the correct 3d disc but my machine didnt show the 3d signal . So was about to turn it off and get rid of it again when i decided to put the 2d version in and low and behold 3d ! I was really excited and really liked the film . Has anyone else had this problem ? The 3d symbol is on the wrong disc !
Did anyone else have this problem with the second coming ?

Based on your advice, I gave this movie a shot as well. Glad I did; the ending was nicely done.

I've been kind of jaded with Chinese films lately, to the point I'm watching it for the 3D and not the movie. This time, it was the other way around.

Yup. I have the NL release as well. As I picked up the parcel from the mail box, I heard a loose disc inside. Upon opening, I saw it was the 2D disc that was loose, and the 3D disc was clamped. I breathed a small sigh of relief. LOL

The 3D movie is on the regular blu-ray disc, and the regular blu-ray holds the 3D movie. Must have been manufactured on a Friday afternoon.

Hope you don't mind you got your answer a year later.
