Default What Rear Projection do you have?

Yesss, awesome first thread!

I have a 50" Sony SXRD KDS-50A2020...

I love everything about it. I've seen some TVs that are TOO bright and give an unrealistic picture (almost fake looking)... I think my TV gives an amazing picture and it hasn't given me a single problem yet (had it for almost a year now)... got it for $800 from Best Buy as a deleted model (not open box) last year...

I've got a Hitachi 51F510. I've had it for the last two years or so and I only have one complaint. For some reason when playing GTA IV on my xbox 360 the radar and my money meter get cut off. I just need to have someone calibrate it, or if anyone has any DIY instructions to fix this I would greatly appreciate it.

My bad it was the Hitachi 51F510, not the Hitachi 50F510

i've got a toshiba 720p rear projector, and it's EHHH. Compared to the LCd it looks HORRIBLE. It only cost 650 bucks though, so i guess you get what you pay for

I'm looking forward to eventually getting an LCD (I'm looking at the Samsung 650 series). Right now I plan to pick up a BD player within the next month.

Same here. Love it, except for the occasional popping sound the cabinet makes when it's really cold in the house.

My first hdtv was a 42" Sony Grand Wega LCD RPTV. It had one DVI and two components, and the only things that I could run on it that were even close to hd were my PC and my original XBox.

KDS-55A3000. It's ok. Better than my Sammy, but I'm ready to try something else.

I also own a Sony SXRD rear projector - the KDS-50A2000 . It delivers a ton of detail, with great black and gray levels, in a very film-like image.

Here it is:

It's great for sports and fast moving images too, much better than LCDs.

I have the Sony SXRD 60" XRB2. I forget the official model number but it's the one with the famous (or infamous) batwing speakers. Got it in March 2007 (just in time for March Madness!), just a couple of three months before they started disappearing. It has been a fantastic TV that never fails to impress. Even Wife, who claims no interest in home audio/video, will occasionally blurt out of the blue, "man, that is a geat picture."

No problems per se but this thing gets heavy use from our family and now I'm getting the warning message on start up that it is time to change the bulb. An extra one came with it. I just need to find it.

My neighbor kept saying he was going to get a flat screen LCD or plasma but ever time he came over for a game he'd bragg on our TV. Finally, he asked me to help him find an SXRD. We found one of the last SXRD A3000's in the state and he's loving it.

I still think Sony bailed on RPTV too soon. These are GREAT TV's.

JVC HD-56FN97 - 56" LCoS RPTV

Mine pops too!

Starting to get a "yellow blob" caused by a warping of the blue filter in the projection unit...thankfully I have 2 yrs left on a 4 yr warranty. Also, the SSE is something that I could live without but it is generally OK unless something is really bright in color
