I have a Samsung 61" rear projection TV with 720p. With a screen this large at only 720p, is it worth it to buy a Blu-Ray player or DVD upconvert? I can't afford a new TV.

Totally worth it!
Is your TV 720p and 1080i? What is the native resolution on your 61" TV? My Samsung HL-R6168W 61" accepts 720p and 1080i and it has a native resolution of 1920 x 1080. My TV can only accept up to 1080i via HDMI but I think my TV upconverts image to 1080p. |

Yes it is worth getting a blu ray player even with a 720p resolution TV, looks far better than DVDs on an HDTV, and yes buy an HDMI or Component cable and set it to 720p or 1080i (Just pick which performs better. |
