It's available on VOD and iTunes, and I'm considering watching it. But if I'm gonna spend $10 to do so, I wonder if anyone is familiar with the story, and whether it is worth it? (I know, almost impossible question.)
I like the cast, and the story seems interesting. It's funny that Eva Green has moved to the "mom" role these days. Yeesh. I'm getting old. |

Was so excited to see this. Bought it today from iTunes. What a waste of money. Poorly made and poorly acted. Eva Green was atrocious. Woodley was just irritating. This coming from a fan of both. Had trouble even finishing it. Felt twice as long as it's short runtime. Only things that kept me going was the fact that I paid for it and Woodleys adult scenes (I'm a warm blooded male, what can I say?). Massively disappointed.

She can be good, as in The Dreamers or Perfect Sense, but this one? If the movie was bigger she would win a Razzie. Just awful.

blasphemy. She is incredible. Critics agree on that so you are greatly in the minority there

Saw the movie a few days ago and enjoyed it, as the friends who were with me. It's not perfect (Eva Green, whom I'm rather fan usually, isn't atrocious like Doctor Jack said but she overplays a bit) and except that scene in the very end with Chris Meloni that totally surprised me, some elements of the story are quite predictable. But the job done to recreate the late 80's/early 90's aesthetic is truly awesome, as the atmosphere established by Araki. The soundtrack, which features an impressive collection of hits, contributes a lot to it besides. On top of that, you've got Shailene Woodley's performance which for my part is more than worthy (haven't seen any of her films before and well, must admit I didn't expect that kind of show
![]() She's one of the reason I want to watch it. Last edited by TheGentlemanBat; 10-27-2014 at 06:53 PM. |

I am normally a very positive person with film, often enjoying things that others can't seem to get behind...but I truly loathed most of the experience of watching White Bird in a Blizzard.
Woodley was great as usual, but I found Green to be cartoonish and ridiculous and the story felt totally meaningless to me. After it was over and I sat there baffled by the ending, I couldn't wrap my mind around what the point of the story was. I am sure it is divisive and I honestly hope others enjoy it, I never wish ill on someone else's experience, but this is a 1/5 for me. |
